What? (Defensively). I’ve been chiming in with my impressions since launch. It’s just that usually I can only play about 20 minutes, but on Friday I had a marathon 3 hour session. :) So I played more in that one day than the previous week combined.

Have to agree with this, I haven’t lost a game of Gwent in ages. I suggested they they should adjust the values of hero cards slightly, limit the number of hero cards you can have in a deck and make weather effects halve their numbers instead of not affecting them at all.

I think it would be enough to just put a limit on how many you can have in your deck. 2-3 maybe?

Well, congratulations guys, you did it. After all these stories (and amazingly little critiscm) I’m actually going to buy a PS4 so I can play this game.

I skimmed through the patch notes for 1.05 and saw that they fixed a few exploits (do these exist in singleplayer games?) where you could get some extra coin, but I couldn’t find anything about the XP problems (although I saw they reduced some gain some places)… Anyone played it and know if it has been fixed or not?

I haven’t played the game for 6 days now, awaiting them fixing the bug.

I played with the bug and I am overlevelled for the main quest by some 8 levels anyway.
But yeah it is fixed.

Apparently the bug with the mutagens not working after loading/fast travelling wasn’t fixed though, was it?

I guess I’m the only one not playing Gwent? I never played MTG or any other deck building games. I did play one game, the introductory one in the Inn at the very beginning of the game, and won, but I suspect it was set up to win.

I lost that one really badly. I played all my cards and totally defeated my opponent! Or so I thought. And then the tutorial tells me, “Okay, that was the first round. You have to win two rounds, so don’t use all your cards on the first round”. Too late tutorial message! Sheesh.

Edit: I really need to learn to save the game. I played for 30 minutes today, and then died while attacking a bandit camp where everyone had a red skull showing, meaning they were a little too high level for me to handle. Well, I think I could have taken them. I had killed 5 of them, but of the last 3, one of them got me from behind. I loaded from the last save, which happened to be the save I had started from this morning. So I lost all my progress today.

It’s a nice complement to the rest of the game, imo. Something else to take care each time you find a new village or city (buying cards, playing with other Gwent players to take their cards, “level up” your deck in the process).

Man, the Last Wish quest…so beautiful. For a book fan like me, I am just speechless at how good this experience is. And I love how they captured Emhyr, he looks and sounds perfect. And Uma…heh. Really curious what is going to happen at Kaer Morhen where I just arrived, 160 hours into the game.

I never played any CCG irl, I ignored Gwent for a while, but then tried few times and now I compulsively play everyone who will play with me :)
Although as others said, it is a bit unbalanced, with many good cards it is pretty easy. Though I have not tried the big tournament yet.

Oh yeah, when exploring it is necessary to save every once in a while. I died couple times losing some 20 minutes of progress at the beginning. I got a bit annoyed so I downloaded application antimicro and assigned quicksave to the guide button on x360pad. Pretty handy.

I play it from time to time, but don’t typically go out of my way to play it.
