Going back to the first page is pretty interesting, as almost all their promises were fulfilled: open world but with good writing and well crafted quests, super big, a more personal story, solving mysteries (dat detective mode!), boat, horse, horse combat, etc

Going back and trying to play Witcher 2 again, it’s easy to see why some people were skeptical early in the thread! Pretty rough going after getting used to TW3. It’s amazing how much they managed to improve almost every aspect of the game.

What armor is that, over 100 hours in I have yet to find it, lol.

Cat armor, 2nd tier I think
Those little “ink” vignettes that happen after some key decision look so good, love the clean look of them

Also, GoG Galaxy has been great so far for me. “just works”. Unless something changes significantly, I can see it replacing steam for me up to a point.

Since Galaxy released, I’ve been buying a lot more GoG games. The convenience of automatic updates!

So who wears heavy armor and is it worth it? There’s some really cool looking heavy but I don’t want to be gimped.

You are barely gimped with heavy armor. You move the same with it.

I went Heavy armor, I’ve had no gimped related issues, there is a potion that gives you increased stamina regen, I use that to make up for the slower regen.

That plus Quen and maxed out Heavy attacks just wrecks everything. Bombs used for crowd control when needed.

Sweet, thanks.

So, are haircuts only available in the city? My beard is beginning to itch…

I saved a barber from a slave trader cage , he eventually ended up in one of the small towns in velen.

Two barbers in Novigrad (though one it isn’t very good…), one in Oxenfut, one in Skellige, one in Velen if you free him.

Well, I’m not even close to leaving Velen, so freeing that barber seems to be the best bet. I think I saw someone in a cage earlier, close to the bridge you need to get a pass for, but couldn’t find a key or talk to him. Hmm, I’d better try finding him again before I trip over my beard…Allthough I think he was a trader, not a barber. Oh well…

Reason why I’d hate to be in game design #2857657: After having to defend themselves that they had forgotten their roots as a PC developer last month, THIS month, CDPR is having to put out statements that they don’t unfairly favor the PC platform over Xbone and PS4.

Must come with the territory of being this successful.

Isn’t the reason being that the patches for consoles have super slow authentication? Like a week or something till they get the “ok”?

That isn’t CPRP fault. :(

It’s Feline level 4, the light armor.

I wear Bear because I think it looks the best. Some of the dropped mediums and heavys also look good though. I have not found any light armor I like the look of yet. The new Wolf set looks ok. I think still not as good as Bear but better than Griffin and Cat.

They put Wolf in a weird spot though…the first two tiers are in an area you probably dont get to until level 20+.

I totalled up my Gwent cards using gwentcards.com. I need 5 random cards to complete the set, and I don’t know where I should go to find merchants/innkeeps/smiths I haven’t played yet. Maybe in Skellige? I haven’t searched every inch of that yet.

Kind of annoying.

Didn’t realize all the free DLC released while I was on vacation. I know the Wolf Set is a treasure hunt, but where do I get the Nilfgaardian and others? The guy in White Orchard?

edit: and are there any comparisons of alternate looks online?

Nevermind, finished the Gwent quest. There is a list of all merchants to play to help zip around the map finding them. My hand hurts from hammering buttons now. :)

Just wanted to wrap up some side content before I launched into the endgame tonight. I think I’m ready to roll the credits, and I’ll leave all these contracts and yellow exclamation points for later, maybe when the first DLC comes out. I don’t want to 100% the entire game all at once. It works better when it’s savored slowly.
