Does this game have precision ranged aiming? If it does Ill play this M&K, otherwise Ill use the controller.

On land, yes. Underwater, it’s just point in the general direction. But given that on land crossbows do virtually no damage, I wouldn’t base your controller decision on it.

I just went with a controller off the bat even though I am mainly a PC gamer. Worked well with it.

I’d recommend a controller too. Especially if you have DS4, it can apparently be configured to cast signs instantly without selecting them first. I’d have killed for that functionality with my x360 pad.

I don’t know how much of a character Kiera was in previous games, but I do find her pretty delightful in this game. Just when I think I’m out of her life, she keeps pulling me back. And I keep saying yes because of one very brief but brilliant exchange in our first quest together. She had asked Geralt what he would do if he succeeded in finding the person he was looking for, and he kind of grunted a run-of-the-mill non answer. And she just stopped and cut through the subtext. Geralt’s response was very sweet, and it has been what keeps me coming back to Kiera even after so many hours and so many quests.

It’s her first true appearance in the games (apart from a supposed indistinct cameo in Witcher 1, as far as I know). She appears in the books, though not really for long. And yeah, she’s a pretty cool character in Witcher 3.

“Precision ranged aiming”?

Dude.

You fight with two goddamn swords.

I’m guessing since I’m playing with ?s turned off, I’ll probably miss a lot of locations out in water, unless I just explore all over the water using my Witcher sense. I love exploring over land, looking for interesting stuff - not sure that will be a lot of fun over water.

I just started the Bloody Baron quest. When the villagers started scurrying away when I approached, I wondered what the hell was going on. They referenced what I did at the crossroads, and I still didn’t recall what they were referencing.

Heh. I had to look it up online. Oh yeah! That stuff that happened almost two weeks ago! I’ve been exploring and doing chores for Kiera for so long, I’d forgotten the Crossroads.

Even on land the crossbow auto-aims. MMB to fire, and I think hold MMB to aim maybe, which I do never.

This week’s free DLC:

New Quest - ‘Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted’: A monster hunt like no other – Can you survive it?

Skellige Armor Set: Enhanced for the frigid climate of the Skellige Archipelago, this set includes a jacket, gloves, pants, boots and horse tack.

I’m 68 hours in, level 19 and I haven’t even finished up Novigrad. Not been to Skellige or Kaer Morhen yet. The level scaling is all to cock but it’s an amazing game. Even the collection quests are miles beyond the tedious norm (e.g. Ubisoft games, Batman games, and GTA to some extent). The scavenger hunts for Witcher gear are fantastic and even have their own little stories for the base gear.

Although i’ve just only entered Novigrad i’m not at all sure how i’m going to pick Yen over Triss. If, that is, there is ever a choice to be made at some point. Triss seems so… lost and broken. She seems to need Geralt more than Yen needs Geralt, and contrasts with the more self-aware hedonistic yearnings of Kiera. I feel like telling Geralt, “Look, man, time to choose the greater overall good rather than the lesser evil. Yen’s going to be fine. Plus: Redhead”.

Personally as a player, though, not as Geralt, i sort of like the cheekiness of Kiera.
You will be given the option to profess your love to each.

Telling them both you love them (as I did) is not ideal.
I love the tavern song and cut-scene during the Dandelion quest in Novigrad. In fact the whole quest with its multiple stops has been great.

Just completed the Wolf school gear, cost me a little over 10k to make it but visually it’s probably my favorite armor set and it’s got higher armor ratings than the best heavy I’ve found so far at lvl 35.

is there any easy way to tell in the galaxy client what dlc is already installed? it does a terrible/non-existent job from what i can tell so i keep redownloading/reinstalling stuff.

Yeah, the GoG client interface is terrible.
Click here and you will get a list of DLC and you can put checkmarks by everything. Though you have to click, wait for download, click, wait for download, and so on.

When I was doing Triss’ quests I felt exactly as you do. All I can say is that now I’ve been to skellige I know I’m going to find it much, much harder to choose, when and if the game asks me to (and I assume it will).

I’d already decided on Yen before even starting the game, but in the event, letting Triss go was one of the hardest choices I’ve ever made in a game. It was superbly handled, including Dijkstra’s chastising Geralt immediately afterwards. You could see how much it hurt him. All I can say is the unicorn sex had better be worth it.

Yeneffer, for all her puppy dog eyes, is sort of a, well, you know.
