Same here. Game is just a tad too long to be replayed right away.
That’s what I assume.
If so, smart move by making it optional, so people who have learned muscle memory in controlling him with the current system can keep it if they like.
I need an option to auto-use ladders. Going up is fine, but going down is frustrating… I keep moving Geralt back and forth to get the “use ladder” prompt… and down he goes, 10’ drop to his death!
Maybe they’re adding a click-to-move option? That would be a lot better for opening containers and general in-game object interaction, IMO.

Is there a sorting option for inventory that I’m missing on the PS4? It is one of my very few complaints about the game - inventory management is a PIA. I just kinda give up.
And reading the patch notes, they apologize for not having free DLC this week due to the patch efforts - who are these guys and how do we all make them Official Leaders of the Game Development World? The way that they continue to tweak and improve the game on a continuous basis, the free DLC, and of course the game itself. I said early on I was in a “we’ll see” mode on whether I would ever be able to get into the game as deeply as I did Skyrim; once I turned off the question marks, I have been completely enamored by W3. And I tried and failed to get into W2 at least 4 times. I talked about the “little things” in Skyrim, but I see so many of those here also. I’m still single digit level, I just haven’t had the time to play as much as I would like. But I was just heading to a meet up with someone, I’m still in Velen, and since I have the question marks turned off, I tend to put a marker on the map that takes me through areas I haven’t yet explored as I head to my targeted location, and there is no paucity of things to discover. Not the density of Skyrim, of course. But I am still struck by some things; I was down on the coast, in a fort of some kind, needed a vendor because I was overloaded, the soldiers were pretty scornful, etc. But as I left and walked outside the fort and walked towards my next location, right outside I ran into the obvious site of a battlefield. Looked with Witcher vision, cool, there are some bodies I can loot. But then I realized, everywhere I looked there were dead bodies. It was a massive field overflowing with dead bodies. And it really hit me, the tragedy and scope and impact of this war. You see the aftermath and the impact everywhere, the villages with people starving, the people being used as slave labor, the corpses hanging by the road. There is a depth here that is so rare in this type of game.
I still consider Skyrim to be one of the top five gaming experiences in my 30 years of gaming. I had restarted it on my PC (I played hundred and hundreds of hours on the 360) just to try the different mods. And I was really addicted to it again. But I just uninstalled it. A second run through just doesn’t appeal as much as it did now. Again, they are different games, and the day they put out a Skyrim II on the PS4 I’ll be all over it (as I will Fallout 4.) But there is a depth, at least so far, in W3 that is simply a masterpiece, in spite of what minor flaws the game has.
It would be awesome if they trolled everyone that agonized over whether to pick Triss or Yen, by making Shani a third option.
I serious doubt Shani will be romanceable. She shouldn’t be anyway, they should just be friends.
She does look pretty great in that little picture though.
Steam got a sizeable update this morning, but it’s not 1.07.
That’s an update of our artpack (artbook, soundtrack, map, manual, wallpapers etc.). You can check them out by going to: Properties (from Library view)->Local files->Browse local files. Files are in main game folder.
Cheers

As far as an ETA on the patch…
We’re working on it, currently we don’t have any confirmed ETA as we want to release it in the same time on all platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4). But we want to make it live as soon as possible, so we can get back to remaining free DLCs.

Always a good idea to hold back the patch on a platform that doesn’t have to go through Sony/MS’s certification process.
They’re trying to get all the platform versions on the same update/DLC release and support schedule. It’s annoying for us PC players, but it makes the developers’ lives a lot easier if they’re not dealing with staggered support issues.
If I lived in the world of Witcher, I would open a rake repair business.
It would be needed, I am amazed there are any leaves on the trees in some areas, with the crazy winds.

Really, getting all support issues at once is preferable?
Up until now, the patches were different between PC and consoles. In fact, the last patch for consoles was 1.05 while the PC has had 1.06. As you may imagine, this is a headache for support.

Not really. I’ve worked in tech support before and providing support for different versions of software is pretty much the norm.
Personally I think they don’t want another backlash from console players because of PC version getting the preferential treatment.
Eh, I’m sure there was some of that as well.
I worked in tech support as well, and providing CS for different versions of the same software was a drain on resources. The place I worked at did everything they could to get all platforms up to the same release.
Edit: I’m not saying my experience trumps yours, I think it’s just tough to say which reason is true for CDPR without being there. I’m assuming that being a relatively small (compared to the videogame giants anyway) outfit, they’d want to keep tech issues down to a minimum.
Yes, that’s probably all, and I think that’s enough. Why give either platform a preferential treatment?
