I gave it a go, then went back to the old familiar movement that I spent all that time getting good at. :)

No, you’ve already got more than enough money for the rest of the game even if you never sell anything again.

I’d never suggest that someone is playing a game wrong, but it’s amazing that people would spend hours running a boring grind like, when they could instead go and see some of the best story content ever done in a computer game. Especially since a) the game is too easy as it is, so there’s no need for a grind, and b) there’s no use for money so it’s really just watching a number going up. It’s like abusing a loophole is somehow more satisfactory than actual gameplay, a good plot, and well written dialogue with excellent voice acting :-)

For some people it seems to be just like that. I’m praying that CDPR never get sucked into making loot-fondling games.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly! :-)

Yup level 25 now money hasn’t been a problem since… like… level 4 maybe. Plus I am sure I have a ton of crafting crap I COULD sell but I don’t because I’m paranoid I’ll need it. As it is I am sitting on 16k and I have bought every crafting recipe I have come across which seems to be the major expense in this game.

I like that the developer is on top of supporting their game post-launch like this, but it seems weird to me that non-bug updates, which alter the graphics and gameplay, are being implemented as I play through the game. It’s like I never got to experience the original version.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, just different and something I haven’t experienced to this degree before outside of online focused games.

Oh it’s definitely a ME issue. I think it started back in wow and the auction house and being a pretty major player in the enchantment market.

Part of it is I hated being dirt poor back in white orchard where I had to pick and choose which armor pieces I would upgrade because money was so tight. So I figure I would stock pile some money so I wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. I have no idea how much is enough or too much so I just ummm kept doing it. So if you all are saying 48K is plenty then I’m not going to worry about selling stuff anymore.

If you level up too far over an incomplete quest, do those quests disappear? I inadvertently ran into the main storyline while doing a side-quest and by the time I got to a point where it wouldn’t have felt stupid to ignore the main story (“You’re leaving NOW?”), I was at level 17… And it seems like there were a few piddly level 7-9 quests I’m not seeing anymore. But I don’t see them under “failed” either.

Or maybe I just completed them all.

The quests should still be there. They usually just get greyed out when you are at 6+ levels above the suggested level and only give you something like 5 experience on completion, but they should still be in your quest log.

Amusing to see this climb up my list of Steam playtimes. At 87 hours it’s just overtaken Dragon Age: Origins and is fast closing on Skyrim…

Played a very short time today, PS4, new patch. It reset all the options to default, so I had to go in and turn off the music again, turn off the ?s, etc. I haven’t yet felt a major difference in the movement (I turned the alternate movement mode on in options) but haven’t play a lot yet with it. Also, it looks like the corpse red "x"s are now highlighted more, red circles with an X in them or something like that.

Saw the books tab - the UI for inventory is still terrible but the books tab that shows what I’ve read and not read is a big improvement for someone like me. who is anal about reading everything.

Any other little changes I might be missing?

I had to turn off the alt outfits for Yen and Triss. That got set to the DLC costumes.

You can also sort out the alchemy tab in and inventory by different values and pin a crafting recipe so that the ingredients will show up on the side when shopping at a merchant.

I can’t get the Pinning tutorial message to go away. It’s there every time I open the Alchemy tab. PATCH IS DISASTER.

Alistair , did you see the tutorial message regarding Pinning ?

87 hours? Hah.

I had Skyrim for 4 years at the top of my Steam playtime with 197 hours.
And now, finally, Witcher 3 overtook it (now at 209 hours).

Considering that I am biting my nails here waiting for the expansions and second full playthrough, I have a feeling that number is going to climb over 500 .)

Ha :) Well those are Steam times, some of which can be questionable. It seems Battlefield BC 2 is up top with 176 hours for me. I have Gothic 3 there at 103, and I know I’d already completed my non-Steam copy at least once before starting the Steam one…

Next free DLC is: New finishing moves!

I’m really glad The Witcher 3’s DLC is free, because there is no way I’d pay any money for this stuff.

That’s my stance on most DLC in all games.
