Lambert and Eskel are both in the first cut scene/tutorial with Ciri that you work through in the very first hour of the game, and everyone’s talked about the Team Yen vs. Team Triss.

Agreed. Lambert’s and Eskel’s voice acting is weird. Dandelion’s bits in the loading screens are also a little off.

Amazingly, up until just a few months before release, the game didn't have an economy.

It explains why I found the loot so disappointing: it’s all procedurally generated to fit on a cost/power curve. Explains the samey, vaguely better but not much loot you keep finding and why the witcher gear was always so much better !

It may have “saved” the economy (lol, everybody ends up with 20k+ gold stacks by the end anyway) but it killed any enjoyment from the loot.

And it looks like, as a result, I’m having to download 7.5 GB over from scratch, when I picked “verify/repair,” which is the only way I could get Galaxy to do anything at all. Lovely. Hope my savegame isn’t borked.

I just loaded Galaxy, and Witcher 3 started updating to 1.08. It’s 7.5GB for me too. The standalone 1.08 shows two parts of 1GB and 2GB respectively. Oh well.

So they spent the effort on the writing and not on placing +7 swords of badness… seems to have been a good choice.

I’m expecting the loot system to get another pass in the inevitable Enhanced Edition, and while it threw out a lot of bland items it wasn’t completely terrible.

Galaxy is broken at the moment.
Cancel the automatic update and instead manually download the 2gb patch, then apply the patch.

re: loot, I love the game but the loot is one sore point for me. CDPR did what they had to do but it annoys me that the journalist thinks it was such a great system.
