It seems to righteously enter the 100-hours game list. It’s not a big list:
- Dragon Quest 7
- Persona 3:FES
- Baldur’s Gate 2 (including expansion)
- Xenoblade
- (maybe) Might and Magic 5, two halves combined
- Fate: Gates of Dawn
- (Monster Hunter stuff)
Wow. That’s the opposite strategy from the one I’ve decided to take. No idea how many hours I’ve got (I can generally only play for a few on the weekends) but at level 18, I was getting horribly overleveled for the main quest. So I decided to prioritize the treasure hunts for witcher gear I can use, then the main quest, then secondary quests that look interesting or are related to the main quest (or are quick and nearby). I’ll do the contracts if they’re level appropriate and near by. I doubt I will ever turn the question marks back on.
I am also on hour 130! You are the Eskel to my Lambert! I’ve stopped using Roach because he was getting me places too quickly.
Semi-OT but… Youtube is trying to make me watch a video called “Geralt breaks Yennefer’s heart”. I don’t know why, but it’s appearing there for more than a month. If I refresh the site several times, I see it appears 50% of the time.
WTH, there aren’t other videos to recommend me, Youtube?
hahaha I saw that video being recommended more than once myself
Never watched it, even that thumbnail is too much :p
Emphasis on “at this moment”. It’s very likely that Redkit 3 will show up a while after all the expansions are released. ;)
Also, it seems the New Game + DLC is up for PC.
I would be very surprised to see a RedKit 3. I don’t think the original RedKit for Witcher 2 got nearly the use that CDPR hoped, and they realized their tool set was simply too user unfriendly for most modders.
This modkit is the compromise.
It’s a small company. When they’re done with the two expansions, it’ll be all hands on Cyberpunk 2077.
They already have RedKit 3. It is what they used. They just need to make it customer-ready, and they won’t, at least not until they’re done with the expansions and perhaps the Enhanced Edition/Director’s Cut.

Has there been any indication that they plan to do this? I know you think it makes sense, but their only statement on the matter sounded a lot more like “no” than it did “later.”
Exactly. “We have no plans” is a lot different from “We’re busy with X, Y, and Z, but we’re excited to get the new and improved Redkit out to our fans as soon as possible!” I have a feeling that getting it ready for use outside of the company is just not worth the expense.
No, no such indication. Call it an “educated guess”. ;)
Yes I’m aware. I’m talking about a version for consumer use, which should have been obvious by the context in which we’re discussing it.
They just need to make it customer-ready, and they won’t, at least not until they’re done with the expansions and perhaps the Enhanced Edition/Director’s Cut.
I just don’t see it happening. Unless they feel like this is something that can significantly affect sales long term on the title, they’re going to direct their resources elsewhere.
RedKit for The Witcher 2 did nothing to give that game a longer tail.
True but W3 is a different style of game, and presumably sold a lot more.
Edit: Then again, maybe they went off and did this instead: http://seven-game.com/en/
eh, Rockstar also had no plans to make GTA V on PC until they suddenly had such plans.
I do agree that Momot’s tweet seems a bit definitive, but even if at this moment they really don’t plan to release it (which is ambiguous already), they can always reconsider.
Whatever the case, I won’t lose any sleep over it. I usually only use some basic mods anyway, and those seem possible with modkit already (closer camera, yay).

So, without any spoilers… Does “The Isle of Mists” (Go to Skellige) quest trigger the endgame sequence? Of if I do that mission, will I still have the opportunity to do secondary quests, etc. after completing it?
Storywise it seems like it would trigger the endgame, but its suggested level is only 22, so maybe not?

You’ll be constrained to a linear sequence of locations for a few hours, but after that the world is opened again and you can go back to side questing. I think the Brothers in Arms secondary quests will be marked as failed if you haven’t done them.
Yeah, even when the game pops up a dialog box and says you’re at the point of no return, you’re really not except for a few side quests. (I never looked up which ones, but it had no impact on me.)
Later there’s another endgame sequence. It’s pretty obvious but not marked by a dialog box. And yet afterwards you can still do side quests.

Thanks! Off to Skellige, then!
