Who has time for that! :p

I’m hoping that if I keep playing at least a little every day, I can finish the main game before the expansions come out.

You have 57 days, 9 hours and 47 minutes, then. ;)

So, without spoilers, is there a choice re: Yen vs. Triss that is the “wrong” choice? I.e. in the books (only read the first 3) Yen is the obvious choice, but if you choose Triss in the game (and I’ve not gotten to the point of having to choose in the game) do you get an “equal” path forward or do you lose some key gameplay options?

There’s no “wrong” choice, but there is a bad/funny thing that will happen if you try to straddle the fence, so to speak.

The romance part is pretty compartmentalized from the rest of the plot and gameplay, imo, so it doesn’t really matters.

No wrong choice. The game seems to prefer a Yen romance in terms of development (some people complained that the Triss romance is not as well developed), but there’s no right/wrong choice.

Wow, that was a pain! Got it on the third try with the “keep rolling” advice. Not fun – really stupid to drop in a boss fight like that that’s nothing like anything you’ve encountered in the game before. What happens when you’re 80% done with the fight is ridiculous. :)

I’m going to level myself as far as I can before the next one.

For what it’s worth, an upcoming patch is supposed to be adding new dialogue and conversation options to flesh out the romances a bit more.

This isn’t exactly true. Both romances are more or less on equal footing. Triss has several nice moments in the city, and Yennefer has some good moments in Skellige. Both love quests are good, and both have good sex scenes.
A small problem I noticed is near the end, there are a specific part where you can talk to almost everybody, with the exception of Triss who answers with a one liner without even going to the “dialog mode”, so it feels weird, like missing something, but that’s the only scene.

But in general terms Yen has a few more scenes, because she is more related to the plot. The game starts by searching for her, it’s the first time she appears in the game, and additionally the final part is about Ciri, and Yennefer has a bit more of dialogue because of it, that’s because she had the foster mother role, the additional dialogue isn’t related to your romance. Yennefer for example has also a few more scenes of importance when she heals Uma (was that the name?), but again that isn’t really part of the romance, you have the same scene whatever you choose.

But internet fans are SERIOUS with their videogame waifus and start shouting “that waifu appears more than my waifu!”.

Love the humor and easter eggs I occasionally run across.

Durden the Tailor. Hah!

Whooooosh! (That’s the sound of that one going over my head - what am I missing?)

EDIT: Wait - Taylor Durden, fight club? No WONDER he’s a challenge in the fist fights, LOL! Duh!

I’m now 152 hours into this and fairly certain I must be getting fairly close to the end now.

EDIT: Okay, I just looked up the list of main quests on the Witcher wiki, and it looks like I just finished the first quest of Act III. Damn.

Lol, Based on that list, I only just finished act 1!!! No idea how many hours I have played, it’s always fairly short sessions so the amount is probably not staggering. But if I keep playing at this rate, I will be done somewhere at the end of next year. Time to focus on the main quest a bit more I guess…

I’m into Act III now and I want to really max Geralt up as much as I can before the final Wild Hunt fights.

What’s the last mission I can do before it doesn’t let me do side missions anymore? (List of main story missions: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/The_Witcher_3:Wild_Hunt-_Guide_to_Main_Quests )

At the very least, I need to get my Wolf gear upgraded once I hit level 34, so I need an open-world moment to do that. :)

I feel pretty silly right now running around playing Gwent and running monsters out of peoples’ farms when (spoiler) is in danger of being killed by (spoiler)!

The point of no return is the start of:

quest

On Thin Ice

Wow, according to that list, I’m only a 2/3rds of the way through Act 1. Damn it. I’d better wrap up loose ends in Novagrad and head over to Skellige already, otherwise I’ll never finish Act 1.

I’m in the same boat. Gah.

Games the size of TW3 have me debating whether I would like them more or less if they were shorter. I used to love replaying games to take different paths in a story, to develop a different type of character, or whatnot, but the sheer size of them makes it impossible to consider with the number of other games out there that I have yet to play. Back, say, in the 90s, I’d buy a game and that would be my go-to for months at a time until another new release came along. Nowadays, I already have enough games to last me the rest of my life at the rate I can play them. Sad, because the quality of TW3 makes me want to keep playing.

Did you people went too much into exploring and clearing the Points of Interests? (bandit camps, monster nests, treasure chests, etc) That’s the “filler” in the game, you should only do as much as you like, and skip the rest, or the game will be 200 hours long.

Heh, I finished the main story back in June and instead of starting over I’ve been playing very sporadically, focusing on those question marks. Right now I’m island hopping across Skellige.
