For my part, exploring is the game. I can’t stand leaving any stone unturned if I can help it, although in TW3, playing Gwent is one of those things I just don’t want to invest time in.
One of the things I love about this game is that it’s very accommodating for when I only have maybe 20 minutes to play a game and don’t want to get involved in anything too major. I can just turn on the undiscovered POI’s, clear a couple of those out, and then come back when I have more time and play through some story missions or other side quests.

I went from Gwent-uninterested to being really ticked that one my Gwent quests is broken because the guy won’t talk to me anymore.

It’s actually Tyler Durden in Fight Club, isn’t it? But close enough…

Finished. Did all the side quests and contracts. Level 35. Master crafted wolf set with cat crossbow. Had 3 bugged quests I couldn’t complete. The only thing left is finding the rest of the witcher gear sets except I really like my wolf armor and probably wouldn’t wear the other ones. Oh and I have a bunch of gwent quests left. I will NOT play gwent!!! I really liked the ending I got. Watched the rest on YouTube. Wow the endings are really different. Looking forward to the paid dlc!!
Gwent side quests are the best side quests!

Late funny quest spoiler…
The Tower Outta Nowheres
So it was the Defensive Regulatory Magicon trapped the guy in the tower. That is, DRM.
The solution to eliminating the DRM? Gottfried’s Omni-opening Grimoire, or… GOG.
Hah!

Hehe!
Thanks for that spoiler, hadn’t actually picked up on that.
That MUST be Shani. Please be Shani. Please. #TeamShani
I think Shani was already confirmed for the expansion so…
That can’t be Geralt in the first image. He’s smiling.
Here’s the PR:
CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, announce the release date of Hearts of Stone, the first expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Step again into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, this time hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, a man who possesses the power of immortality. The expansion lets you choose your own way through an adventure that includes recruiting a crew of break-in artists, spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.
Launching October 13th, 2015, Hearts of Stone packs over 10 hours of new adventures and introduces new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance, and a brand new storyline shaped by gamer choices. The expansion also introduces a brand new system of Runewords that significantly affects gameplay. Each Runeword will impact a different aspect of in-game mechanics and will allow the players to experiment with various strategies and tactics.
Along with the digital release, gamers will also be able to purchase a special, limited boxed edition of Hearts of Stone (SRP $19.99/19.99€) available at selected retailers worldwide. The box contains a digital download code for the expansion, two masterfully crafted physical decks of Gwent, the card game set in the world of The Witcher, and a detailed manual explaining the rules. With two unique sets of cards, Monsters and Scoia’tael, ready to go, players can now engage in tactical combat on a grand scale outside of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!
The studio launched a special initiative for owners of the digital Expansion Pass that will enable them to purchase the cards separately. All information about the initiative can be found at redeemgwent.com.
Interesting bits about the runewords.

GOG has it for 15% off, but the season pass isn’t on sale.

Well, here’s where we get to find out if Gwent works outside of the game!
I have the expansion pass, but may buy this just for the darn cards!

You can get just the cards from CDPR if you have the digital Expansion Pass. Check http://redeemgwent.com/ for info.
They did that with the other two factions for the Witcher 3 Collector’s Edition.

And, done!
Kinda wish I’d gone Yen instead of Triss. Not as much because of the characters but because they didn’t give Triss much to say/do after her main quest line ends. But otherwise, awesome ending! So much better than “you beat the big bad guy, thanks, roll credits” in so many other games.
I will happily declare this the best RPG I’ve ever played, and the overall best-written game I’ve played as well.
So good. An 11 on the 7-9 scale.

Thanks!
I didn’t realize they’d included Gwent cards in the original collector’s edition. Dang, I want those!
