Make sure to pay attention to our official @witchergame social channels later today. Something good is coming up. #HeartsofStone

Nice - I finally gave this a decent spin and got out of White Orchard with a new Geralt, and took the first two main quests after Hendriks village thing…Holy moses! Things get dark quickly, don’t they?!
By the way, afaik the expansions are allowed to be so fucking amazing and huge because they have been in development for years in the Krakow studio. They were not developed in 5 months after release of the game. I hope they will make more expansions than just two, but I guess with this level of quality it would take too long, so after Blood and Wine they will just move over to Cyberpunk en masse.

This makes me sad. I’m not a big Cyberpunk fan (or really at all). If they could only make Witcher games until I die and then move on to different settings. I liked ShadowRun Returns, so that isn’t to say I won’t like their Cyberpunk game.
You may rest assured that there are folks in Warsaw who are on perpetual Witcher game development duty.

I have found that reading the books adds a lot to the game, for me. Just little stuff, knowing some backstories, so that when someone greets Geralt and complains about how his ankle still hurts and never healed, I know what he’s referring to. Quite a few of those. Since I’m only through book 4, there may be things I’m missing that come from the later books. But for me, the game is richer for knowing these backstories.

Absolutely. I’ve started digging into the lore of my favorite games, including the Myst series, World of Warcraft, Mass Effect, and Halo, and it makes the games much more fun and engrossing.
I know that some people don’t believe them when they said this is the last Geralt’s game, but I can believe it given how far they went into references/fanservice for book readers.
TW3 is loaded with references to books and I love it for that.
If you liked SRR, I am sure you will love this. Personally I love Cyberpunk as a setting, it was what I wanted CDP to work on after Witcher…and then they went and announced actually doing it, my mind was blown. I still remember that conference and just gleeing all over it :D
So, just finished Witcher 3 with the ending I wanted (SO much better than the one I originally got) and now I’m 100% ready for Hearts of Stone. BTW, that was a great trailer.
I love this game so much. ;)

Did anyone else notice on the PS4, how wildly the quality of the games narrative scenes differ? The end of the Red Barons quest suddenly took a serious dip in resolution, lightning, and even quality of voice when the baron told his tale - so strange!

I haven’t read much about the expansion, as I don’t want to spoil the experience, but where does it fit in chronologically? Does it occur after the main campaign? (ie will Ciri & the others make an appearance?)
Supposedly it simply integrates as a side quest for players in the late game. (You can pick the quest up at any time, but it’s a level 30 gig.)

I finished it on ps4 and also bought the GOG version.
Differences
- load times MUCH faster on the PC and that was me not even moving it to the SSD yet.
- frame rates better on PC but it’s pretty solid on ps4 and never felt it was an issue.
- visual quality was very similar

Wow. 80 bazillion fixes and the two quests I have in my queue that are borked aren’t mentioned…
broke stuff
Skellige’s Most Wanted: When I kill the werewolf at the end, he doesn’t die just shakes there with no health left, so mission doesn’t end.
Patrol Gone Missing: The draconid never shows up
The @witchergame patch 1.10 is going to be around 15gb on consoles (depending on SKU) and between 6-15gb on PC (depending on platform).
Based on previous patch sizes, I think the Steam version of the patch will be on the smaller end.
BTW, some folks who are not CDPR-affiliated apparently have made (and are continuing to make) more extensive mod-scripting tools for the game, and we’re already seeing some fruit of those efforts in some more advanced HUD mods, and also our first Geralt basic needs mod (hunger/thirst/fatigue).
Nexus starting to buzz with some interesting mods now.
