I forgot how annoying combat is against enemies of the same level. So many hit points. I’m going to overlevel myself so I can breeze through the expansion content.

I actually liked combat against similarly leveled mobs, as it made the combat pretty deep. You had to be careful about what was going on.

On one hand, I dislike how “unrealistic” it is that I have to slash a knight quite a few times before he dies. On the other, I enjoy the combat mechanics and the challenge and the fights themselves.

Funny, I was going to use GTA V as an example of swimming that was worse! I recently did a mission where I had to swim into a narrow area to cut through a door. My character kept hitting walls and bouncing away, sometimes wildly.

It’s not a game-breaker. Thankfully, you can just power through the swimming bits. And, it’s apparently not an issue for everyone, but I’m not the only person to criticize the swimming in The Witcher 3. It’s just clumsy and not well done.

Yeah a few people said that in this thread. I didn’t notice it at all. It was awkward when you were inside a wreck or something - maybe some people did more of that.

Witcher getting all them golden joysticks

hilariously terrible show

Poor Michal Nowakowski having to run around constantly

This dumb expansion keeps handing me my ass. I think I might head south again to remind myself how to play :\

Toad or Worst Nightmare ? :P

Some boar :(

Huh, I met like one group of several boars and dispatched them very quickly. If any of the standard monsters gave me a bit of trouble, it was those huge level 35 endregas or arachas or what was it.

Toad fight is the only one that killed me, though it was pretty easy the 2nd time.

Really happy TW3 is getting more awards but man, some of them are really silly:

Innovation of the year: First-person mode in GTA 5

I finished this last night. It was a great game throughout, and it’s pretty bold to have such a depressing ending. Though I suspect it might not be the only ending. Still, it didn’t seem like it was triggered by things I chose at the end of the game. So for once, an ending determined by choices throughout the game, then? I’m still a little shell-shocked by it. I’m not really sure I want to play either of the two expansion packs after an ending like that. It’s similar to the Mass Effect 3 ending in that way.

Oh well, enough vagueness. I’m off to find the spoiler thread.

The story and character endings you get are most definitely determined by your actions and choices throughout the game, so if you got a “bad” ending then it’s your own fault! :-p

…and some drowners :(

I’m only level 16, I wander around a lot (?s turned off) but I decided to go find the wolf gear, and was totally flummoxed trying to go to Kear Moen or however that is spelled. Then realized it would not let me fast travel to there yet. Do I have to get further in the main quest to trigger being able to go there?

Well, the consequences to everyone else in the World were mostly all positive. Only the consequence to Geralt was a downer. And that was determined, apparently, by conversation choices during the last 10 hours or so. I still feel like those were the right conversation choices that fit the character the best. I’m kind of baffled that they would be considered worthy of the most depressing ending for Geralt himself.

I’m not sure. I didn’t try to get to Kaer Moren until later in the game when I had to go there anyway. That’s when I got the Wolf Gear, which I was too high level for to actually use. I’m surprised it won’t let you fast travel there. Though it makes sense in the context of the story, in which Geralt doesn’t go there until much later.

So you tried going to a fast travel point, and zooming the map out to the World map, then going to Wolf symbol in the upper right on the map, and zooming into it, and choosing a fast travel point in there? And it doesn’t let you?

The ending as far as Geralt and Ciri are concerned is determined by how Geralt treats Ciri. Unfortunately you dun fucked up .)
Second aspect is whether Geralt takes Ciri to see Emhyr or not.
