PC Gamer has some info as well. http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-3-blood-and-wine-is-a-sprawling-exciting-expansion/

Edit: This might be a bit spoilery – lots of footage from the expansion so don’t watch if you want to go in completely fresh.

All the changes and additions to the game coming in this update sound insane. CDPR are truly amazing.

So Polygon also posted a preview, but unless you want to hear how Witcher 3 is supposedly demeaning towards women and people of color, I’d advise you to stay away.

Sounds like those content rumors linked above were on target.

Man I remember when they used to have nicely produced content until they decided to firmly stick their heads up their own asses.

Got to love agendas.

I wonder if “SafeSpaceReviews.com” is taken yet, or “Snowflake.com

They posted their initial review that made it pretty clear in the description of a quest that the reviewer either wasn’t paying attention or worse.

And then, because it was a senior review editor, they’ve basically doubled down on it.

At any rate, beating up Polygon for being Polygon seems reductive at this point.

Let’s just celebrate the sheer holy shitness of this expansion! Because…holy shit!

I want to marry CDPR.

I love the new inventory screen - I don’t want to click on something and be spoiled on any of the content, is there a preview that talks about the changes/mechanical updates separately from the story stuff, maybe?

There’s a website showing all the different menus. As for changes in mechanics, you have new mutations (with new slots) that are very powerful (and it seems you can only slot one of them at once), and bosses/creatures with some new tricks. Also new armors and weapons, and the level cap has been raised to 100. That’s pretty much it AFAIK.

Not really. I can sum it up for you.

  • 30+ hours of content
  • 90 new quests
  • 40 new POIs
  • As shown, the inventory screens have been completely revamped.
  • New Game + goes up to level 100 now
  • Over 2hrs of new music
  • New dynamic POI system. Example: Kill the bandit boss and surrounding bandit locations will be less powerful
  • You can enable an option to turn off automatic sword sheathing. With this option enabled, the player will have full control and responsibility for pulling the correct sword in time to fight.
  • There’s an option to disable the fish-eye effect with Witcher vision
  • New grass and texture process to improve performance
  • Books have been moved to the glossary
  • There’s a new Grandmaster armor class
  • Armor dyes can be purchased and applied
  • Mutations have been added which are a further character feature that can add some powerful abilities. Only one can be on at a time.

Great, sounds like I don’t need any mods at all now.

(Thanks!)

Are all these changes in the PS4 version too? Almost makes me want to put my game on hold so I can play through most of the game w/ the new additions.
