Maybe if Salt and Sanctuary didn’t do a surprise release on PC this week I’d have time to notice. Killed my whole schedule!

I might have to push B&W a few weeks. It’s good though. Gives the wiki authors time to tell me how to do all the romance options.

Embargo on in-game footage is lifted, and Gopher has video details and…

HOLY SHIT!

This went from “Yes, I will enjoy playing this a great deal when it comes out” to “WHY ISNT IT THE 31st YET!?!?!?!” for me after seeing it.

There are no story spoilers, but there are new game stuffs shown, especially the additions to you player house. Geralt can sleep now, and depending on how and what additions he’s made to the estate, you get buffs for sleeping there. You get horse buffs from your stables. Etc.

Also shown: inventory menus (which look great) and the new mutagen research thing, which now makes sense to me.

Also scenes of Gopher just walking around Toussaint with Geralt that are freaking breathtaking.

That looks incredible. I thought about doing another run to get a save ready for the dlc but those UI changes look so good that I’ll wait and just play the whole thing once it’s released.

I leave on a 2-week vacation on June 3rd. Sure, we’ll take the wife’s laptop with us. The 5yo $350 Best Buy black Thursday special that, you know, loads windows, lets her surf the web, that sort of stuff. For two weeks. Two weeks. :(

Thanks for the link though, tc.

I’m torn whether to continue my save or start again. I want to see the new content, but I kinda what to have a fresh start too.

Continue your save, play the DLC to the end, start it all over again. That’s my plan ;)

That is too reasonable :-)

My only hesitation is that I get so rusty after a layoff and its hard to jump in with a fully developed character and more difficult encounters.

That’s a good point. I don’t even remember what Geralt’s spells were. I think the one I used the most was yellow. But the only one I’m remembering right now was the trap spell you needed to use in order to hurt ghost-like creatures.

I can’t remember, but maybe there was an arena-like place in Witcher 3 where we could practice our combat and build our player skill back up?

There isn’t, but the monsters don’t really scale either.

Go to the Crossroads in and whack on level 4 stuff.

New screenshots:

I took a personal day on May 31st, to make sure Geralt is safe in Toussaint . ;)

I had some of the same hesitations and started a new game. Now I regret it. There’s just soooo much content playing it over again before trying any of the DLC is a lot.

Maybe I’ll start a new game just to get familiar again, then switch over and play the DLC with my existing character.

White Orchard is a great starting area / tutorial, and will get you back up to speed to be able to jump into where you left off in your previous game.

I’ve played that area 3 times now, and still find new stuff every time!

Think I’m gonna make the switch from PS3 to PC for this so I’m gonna have to start over. This isn’t even a first world problem, it’s a fantasy open-world problem.

I’m switching from PS4 to PC and will start over as well. The PS4 killed me with its excruciatingly long load times (I die a lot). My gaming PC with SSD surely will improve on that, I’m assuming.

Yessssss, YESSSSS, embrace your PC overlords. Step forward, children, kiss the hem of its raiment.

lol

P.S. I’ll leave my PS3 typo rather than edit it out to serve as proof of my disdain for consoles.

FWIW, Amazon was having a sale on TW3 and expansion pass for like $50. Others may also have it. Not sure if its still running.

Yeah, Steam has it for $48.74 until June 1st. It’s in my cart, just waiting for me.
