It’s not in the fix log, but they finally fixed the Skellige’s Most Wanted quest. Before, once you got the bad guy down to 0 points, he wouldn’t die, and you’d be stuck unable to finish. With the new patch on Xbox One, I just finally finished that damned quest!

I upgraded from 1.08 to 1.12.something through galaxy earlier and there were horrible glitches. I’d been riding around the perimeter of the new world area added by Hearts of Stone to see what I could get to without the season pass. Peasant ladies with disconnected heads and invisible bodies. Terrible lighting and performance. I had to do a repair through the Galaxy client to fix the terror. Just in case anyone else is in the same position.

So…

Some PS4 customers got a pre-load. EU Season pass buyers have not. Nothing for GOG PC gamers either. Not sure about Steam.

Expansion goes live at 7pm EDT tomorrow. One of the forum mods on the FAQ page for the expansion mentioned that no one’s in the offices at CDPR until the morning. Hopefully when they come in for the morning, they’ll turn on the patch and preloads for us!

Patch is out on Steam I think. 2.4 GB. I see inventory changes anyway.

I’ve had the patch on GOG Galaxy too, but the same issues I reported above with graphical corruption. I’m doing a repair now to see if that fixes it (again). After that I’ve got Hearts of Stone to get stuck into.

5 gb patch via GOG.

Wow it’s a bummer that my daughter’s school is closed tomorrow and I’ll be home all day. Damn the luck. ;) Took a long break from the game to wait until everything was released. I don’t think I have it in me to restart from the beginning, but we’ll see.

I plan to start from the beginning as soon as the few mods I want to use are updated for the new patch. Can’t wait, even if it means going to Toussaint sometime in october probably.
Anyway, where’s that review ?

I’m slumming it on the ps4. Can’t justify the cost of buying it all again on the PC.

New menus sure are pretty!

As much as I loved Witcher 3 and was consumed by it for months, I don’t feel any pull toward the coming expansion yet. It feels like it’s too soon. Like returning to Assassin’s Creed too soon. I feel like I need to stay away for longer. I’m just not mentally ready to back in yet. I’m looking forward to reading spoiler-free impressions from you guys though. I hope it turns out to be as good an experience as the base game. Then I can dive into it with gusto in 2017 or 2018.

As for me, I decided to play a bit last Friday, to check if I wanted something before diving into Blood & Wine today, and I ended up playing Witcher 3 through most of my weekend.

I love this game so much. I can’t wait to play Blood & Wine, and when I’m done, start it all over again. :)

I changed my mind and started from the beginning again. It’s just been too long since I last played it. Going to be a while until I see the dlc.

I just got all patched up. I’m pretty sure I’ll do what was mentioned before - I’ll start a new game to get my feet back under me, then I’ll continue my existing game and hop into the DLC. I can’t wait 100+ hours of playing to jump into Blood & Wine.

I never had the chance to play when the game first came out, as we were in the middle of packing/moving/unpacking. However, all this talk piqued my interest and I fired it up this morning. I’m very early in, but it’s been great so far.

Pro tip for 1.21:

After you install the patch, go to options and graphics and check the Texture Detail tab. For some reason the new patch resets it to “LOW”, even though it leaves all the other settings intact.

The option to turn off Witcher Sense fisheye effect is in the Gameplay Options, btw.

After updating, the game is unplayable for me due to mods. I need to wait for the authors to update or try it without, but I’m afraid it might break the game.

Yeah, I spent about a half hour this morning disabling my mods. Fixed everything right up, though I did also have to repair my installation too. But…that’s par for the course with mods. New patch breaks many of them, regardless of the game.

HERE WE GO! WEEEEE

I never felt the need for mods in this game. Of course I might just be telling myself that because there aren’t any on the ps4. :)
