(If you’re GoGging, exit the Galaxy client, then start it back up. It’ll want to do an update from 1.21 to 1.21. Maybe a hotfix for a few issues that have crept in?)
Then you should see Blood and Wine able to be installed.
7.5 gb here, with the 4.5 gb patch installed earlier today.
EDIT: also want to say that I’m not sure what kind of architecture CDPR is using for this download, but Blood And Wine is being blowtorched into my system at 2.2 mb/s, which is the limit of my ISP pretty much.

I’m getting Blood and Wine from GOG just slightly slower than I usually get downloads on Steam (7.4 mb/ sec compared to nearly 8 mb /sec). Still pretty fast.
Don’t know how long I can play old content before jumping into new!
All downloaded.
See y’all on the other side!

Finished the game in time for Blood and Wine (and the other expansion). My one wish:
spoiler
That the end game state reflected the finale. I’d gladly trade 50% of act three if it would have allowed them to create game states for the three main endings + the 3 main political fates (though admittedly a few references to the latter are scattered about). It was so dispiriting to have most of your friends vanish. The ones that remain, zoltan, dandelion, and an a bugged Keira, are in an act 2 state.
Now that 1.2 allows side quests to scale up, there’s so much I’d like to do. But I’m so lonely in game…
Hopefully the 2 expansions will remedy this. Right now I wish I have never finished the game. It’s depressing, especially with this being Geralt’s final act.
Speaking of Geralt’s friends, I never got Dandelion. His voice is so jarring. Even if he was supposed to be ridiculous and jarring- it’s just too much. I avoided talking to him at all costs as he always shattered my immersion in the game.
Edit: I also feeling like yelling: “I DON’T CARE ABOUT CYBERPUNK. Make witcher games every year forever!” The RPG genre has been ruined for me. I could never pick up Skyrim 2, Dragon age 4, or whatever. When I saw the trailer for Far Harbor, dialogue/performances that I used to accept as inevitable with games, I now found intolerable.
Played for 4 hours non-stop. So much to see and do, so many quests, so many rich colors, etc.
You guys are gonna kill me.
So I’m still playing Hearts of Stone tonight as the expansion pack download concludes. “Let me just finish this quest to ding 38 and I’ll head to Toussaint and maybe come back to finish HoS some other time.”
And then goddamn did HoS get its hooks in me. Like deep. Like brought me to tears at one point deep.
Damn this game. Damn the writers.
So, so so great.
BTW, how awesome is that B&W main menu screen? Gotta love the callback to the “Night To Remember” trailer from last year, right? Especially with the girl in the background in the barn.
There was much speculation as to what the monster in the Night To Remember trailer was. I think they’ll name it for us in B&W, and my money is on
it isn’t a witch
5 weeks before launch last year. So HRose, how’d they do? They get enough content in there for you? With a LOT to prove, how’d that go?
Damn, apparently I forgot that I deleted W3 off my hard drive and it being a GoG game I have no cloud saves. I bought B&W which I’d love to play but I don’t think I can start from the beginning now, not when I’ve got Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4 still in progress. Does anyone know how far into the main game you have to play to access the new content? Is there a level requirement?
You can start right into B&W and pick all your stats and crap if you don’t have a save. I’m sadistic and I’m starting fresh so I’ll see the new content in about 10 years. I don’t remember why I took a break from this game. It’s so damn pretty… I never could get into the first two games especially the first with it’s horrible combat, but this one is just perfect.
Oh that’s awesome! Yeah if i didn’t have other games I was really enjoying at the moment I’d definitely just start from scratch. This is still my favorite game of the last 3-5 years.
I did this with Heart of Stone as my previous save game was bugged all to shit (my stats were like 10,000% higher than they should be due to some bomb I was using against golems, or some such). It worked out really well, and that same character is who I’m rolling into B&W tonight with. Just be aware you are going to be missing lots (not all, you start with some) of potions, oils, and other gear you may be accustomed to. You’ll quickly find a lot of new and better stuff I imagine, but take care to run around the base game a bit to get some beast entries in your book, hit up the “places of power” in White Orchard, and that sort of thing.
What are you people talking about mods for! This game has mods???
I ended up not purchasing the expansion(s) since I figured I would only do that if I made significant progress on the game. Even though you guys pimping it made me want to buy it!
As for mods, are there any mods which are must haves - I’m not particularly interested in ones that muck with graphical aspects, since I feel the game is pretty and it’s already pushing my rig, but if there are any that improve gameplay, I’d be all ears.
I’m kind of glad I can’t do any mods. I’d never get around to playing the game. I spent like 2 weeks modding Skyrim.
I am so damn excited about starting my second full playthrough. It is tempting to go for Blood and Wine right away, but playing with premade Geralt is just a huge no-no for me. Now I just have to wait a few days for ImmersiveCam mode to get updated. Gives me time to re-read Toussaint related parts of Lady of the Lake at least :p
Good thing about this game, unlike Skyrim it does not need many mods. I just use immersive HUD which hides minimap and quest info naturally, immersive cam for closer camera and wither sense camera tweak.
I’m glad CDPR is done with expansion packs so you guys don’t have to replay the game anymore. Think of the worldwide time savings!
While I generally like the changes 1.2 brings to the table, I don’t know if I needed (or want) bigger icons. The art isn’t any higher res, so they look just a little not as good as before, and there doesn’t seem to be anyway to scale them back to 100%. In particular, I don’t like the loot box - it lacks details like alchemy ingredient and the like, and is JUST the picture and name of thing you are looting. Ah well, not all change is good change, I suppose.
Some mods I used off the top of my head:
Fast travel from anywhere (which was updated today)
Extra skill slots (use all of your acquired skills not just the few allowed)
Vendor cash
Full experience points for all quests
A few others…
My first run through was lost when my computer died, so for my second, current run I figured I’d try some mods. So far they have enhanced the game rather than cheapen the experience.

I noticed some UI weirdness too. Little things like there’s no constant size to the quest title bar, so the box shifts around as I scroll through. All the fade in/out seems distracting too.
Very minor, but it still feels like they’re learning as they go.
As a minimum, this one
Extra skill slots (use all of your acquired skills not just the few allowed)
is making the game twice as easy. For a few slots to all of them active is a big boost to your power.
