Good point. I think what tempts me is I felt like I spent the first part of the game just learning the game rather than focusing on the the world.

(subtract 40 minutes of being idle and 2 hours of silly obsessive I-have-to-collect-all-the-grandmaster-equipment)
And done. Well, I still have one monster contract and play the other end. I got the “bad” one.
Bad ending
Rocks falls, everybody dies. The vampire, the duchess, the evil sister. Come on Geralt, you knew she wanted to kill Anna Henrietta, you warned the captain, and she still got her goal! Tsk tsk tsk.
I made the same choice you did, greeny. (By “took care of” I just meant freed.) And you’re right… dire consequences indeed. I just hope those snot-nosed little squirts are happy wherever the fuck they went off to.
160 hours or so into the game, and still it gets me.
I’m back in non-Toussaint world, because I decided to finish off some armor collections, and that has me back in Kaer Morhen and being there already makes me feel so goddamn nostalgic I wanna burst.
And so I’m making my way to a place I have to go, and I see this little shrine. Or at least what looks like a shrine at first. Huh. What’s this?
Oh. Leo’s grave. Beautiful callback to Witcher 1. So many feels.
Should I finish Heart of Stone before installing Blood and Wine? I’ve basically killed the toad and done a bunch of sidequests.
You can install Blood and Wine but you should finish Hearts of Stone before starting Blood and Wine.

Oh crap - it seems time for a big decision in Blood and Wine
My gut tells me to find the Dutchess’ sister and bring her to Dettloff. She’s the scheming bitch who caused all this - besides, she was willing to meet. The Dutchess is a spoiled brat who won’t enforce justice.
On the other hand, Detloff is very dangerous to leave alive. Look at the destruction he can cause.
I think I need to go with the first plan. I’m not a fan of nobility and them being able to get whatever they want.
Patch 1.22 live for PC, coming any time now for PS4 and XBone.
Changelog is here. 13 gb. Yowza.
It seems they fixed the Geralt of Cimmeria issue.
Fixes issue whereby players could knock down horses.
The download was only 2.9GB for me.

9.8GB for me on GoG.
I just started playing the DLC with my previously finished game - it took some real will power not to start a completely new game or a new game + but I knew I would never see the DLC that way.
I keep muttering WTF that is amazing looking every couple of minutes.
Anybody test camels yet?
No camels in the game, alas. But I wonder if that would work on a Shaelmaar. ;)
I think he meant the cigarette…
I read Tom’s teaser and I understand its a fantastic game. However, this Geralt guy seems like a sexist bastard – why would a woman ever want to play that game? I want to be convinced. Alas --It will take a heckuva argument. I can make a nice lady in Skyrim and Fallout etc – and not deal some deck of cards with some sexist pig.
(Sry to be a fly in the ointment – I don’t mean to be -I am busy playing a strong-willed lady in Fallout 4 survival --thought I’d give my two cents)
Geralt is not a sexist bastard at all. As I see him, it’s actually the opposite - he not only treats women with deference and respect, as equals, as he’s often used by them (for a variety of reasons). On that note, some of the most powerful (and interesting) characters in the Witcher universe are women, despite the fact that it’s mostly a patriarchal society with heavy sexist overtones, much like our world.
Ah good – the first game turned me off completely – perhaps that evolved into a better system (game-wise) by 3.
(I’m not quite convinced but I do feel kinda trollish by being a woman in a witcher thread - it just seems obvious he’s a sexist bastard – but I DO wanna try W3)
(obvious to me at least)

You keep repeating the same complaint, while ignoring the replies. Clearly you didn’t believe the responses the previous times, why would this time be any different? I’d suggest that the trollish feeling is due to something else than “being a woman in a Witcher thread”…
Geralt certainly likes to fuck, there’s no question about that.
Well, there’s certainly nothing wrong with that!
I keep repeating the same complaint because I am not convinced. But I want to be --'cause W3 seems like my kinda game overall.

While there is nudity and some sex scenes, it was handled in a more serious way I think. It wasn’t like - “You saved me, here have sex with me!”. I don’t think there are any mandatory sex scenes. Geralt is pretty progressive in how he treats class, race and gender I think. Hands down this has the best writing that I’ve played in a video game - but it depends on how much you like the subject matter.
