I’m sure you’ll be peeing your pants throughout B&W.
I bought special anti-pee briefs so hopefully it will be fine

I’m at 99 hours, level 21.
There were some great, cinematic shots in this Heart of the Woods quest I played last night.
It all started with this unfortunate fellow. Yikes!
I sheathed my sword, donned my chef’s apron, and whipped up my signature dish: wolf heart flambe.
This little guy was stoked.
So were his buds. A conspiracy of peckish ravens!
Hitchcock would be proud.
This shot was the clincher… I almost didn’t notice the leshen lurking back there. So cool.
Ah, well. Been seeing a lot of these lately and reminding myself it’s about the journey, not the reward.
Huh I did that quest this way last year and never noticed the Leshen. Cool as hell.
This time I killed him. Too bad what happened in the village afterwards. Sven, what an asshole.
And yeah the low XP for low level quests is done to balance it out so the player does not get overlevelled even if they do all quests in the game. Personally I couldn’t care less about some numbers in a game like this.

I can’t keep up with all the quests, I constantly have a few quests 4+ levels lower than I am, and every time I complete them, more pop up to replace them. I didn’t do a lot of random wandering, so I am not sure why I constantly seem to be ahead, but even at level 21, the main story line quest is only level 16 for me right now. Maybe it’s because I am playing on the second lowest difficultly level and get a bonus for XP? Or was it like this for everyone?
It is balanced like this on purpose. My advice is basically to ignore the level numbers. Just use it to avoid too high level ones until you get in the vicinity of their levels. Other than that, do the quests you want to do without worrying about numbers.
For example, on this playthrough I went to Skellige before doing anything in Novigrad, just to see how the game responds to it (it counts with it). So I had harder time in Skellige at first, and when I came back, stuff in Novigrad was all lower level than me. But so what ?
Btw I just killed the level 48 Gryffin in Skellige, me being 35. Awesome fight. Now I have 70,000 crowns, which should hopefully be enough for the money sinks in Hearts of Stone, so it is time to go to sewers and kill me some Frog.

Just found the floating whale myself, so I am not far behind you @rrmorton. I had forgotten all about it.
While I am sure everyone who has played has seen this view, figured I would add to the thread with one of my shots.
The Witcher series is on sale at GOG:

Boughtened. Really looking forward to playing this game. Now to watch some Witcher 1 and 2 youtube recap videos while I wait for it to download.

This game is visually stunning. They should have put that phrase on the box. I only just past the tutorial bit and already I am taking snaps like a tourist. I have it running at 4k at 50-60fps with a few things turned a bit down (shadows, ambient occlusion to SSAO, no hairworks). I decided to not play this game until I did a full upgrade, even though I loved the last two in the series, so now I get to reap the harvest.

Yeah, this game in 4K is a gift that never stops giving. And it’s not just the scenery, it’s every last detail.
You can toggle the hud on/off with the Home key for prettier screenshotting.
Are you just starting? Turn off the question marks…

Thanks for the tips! Yes just starting, got the game + expansion pass and have put in about an hour so far.
Small upfront tip for you, the main quest is the Gwent one. ;)
It’s all about GWENT. :D

It’s funny you say that, because I have ignored Gwent figuring I would find some good cards and then make a go of it. I have already failed the Collect Them All quest, and when there is a rare regular quest with a Gwent game in it, I fail it miserably. So now I wish I would have concentrated on it from the beginning. I have a bunch of quests clogging up my Quest page, butI can’t win a game to save my life. I want to get better now, but it seems I don’t even see cards for sale anymore.
So my point being, I should have gave it more importance than I did.
Uh-oh… I didn’t think any gwent quests were fail-able.

I seriously wish there was an option to just disable gwent completely so it would never be mentioned again. I don’t care for the game at all and am sick of Geralt’s never-ending thirst for matching wits with random merchants in the middle of nowhere. I did a quest not too long ago where it even wanted me to play while waiting for an ambush to go down. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear the developer had sold out to EA Gwent so it could push their latest money maker on me as much as witcherly possible in my epic adventures! #nevergwent

Maybe fail isn’t the right word, but I have lost at least one game which would have impacted the result of a quest. For Collect Them All there was one special event, that once it ended I got the message the quest failed because I didn’t win the card and the event ended with the main quest.
Get a couple mods:
Immersive Hud (hides minimap and quest info and displays it when using witcher sense)
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/755/?
Immersive Cam (lets you customize all cameras to huge degree, disable autocentering, contains some fantastic submods)
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/689/?
Sensible Map Borders (disables forced map opening when you reach the map border, nice for exploration)
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1458/?
Installation is a matter of copy and paste, super easy.
I would also recommend disabling many HUD elements. Just needlessly clutter the screen.
