Reading all that, I’m really glad I currently don’t have a machine capable of running The Witcher 3. I really can’t afford to spend any time on this game at the moment, but I also really would have bought it anyway if I could have played it…
Speaking of downgrade, gif with grass!
Both are from Kotaku.
Yeah I do not see a link for it @ $32 anywhere. Unless they were linking to GMG a few days back, lol.
It’s $35 on GOG for me with regional pricing and the discount for owning both previous games. $32 could be the price in Russia or something.
But if I consider the Nuuvem price for Brazil (with the “own both games” discount) converted to dollars at the current exchange rate, it’s US$ 26.49, which is a fantastic price, if you ask me.

On the matter of “downgrade”, this (if legit) should confirm the extent of difference between trailer and final build, at least about LOD complexity and population density:

Regardless of your opinion whether this matters or not, accepting this would mean accepting Killzone 2 trailer was an honest representation of in game footage.
Disclaimer: you don’t have to repeat all over again you don’t care/it doesn’t matter/HRose must hate games/have you ever developed a game?, I’m merely pointing out a small fact, that even if small is still a fact.
So you don’t know if that picture is legit, but you’re still posting it as a “small fact”? I find that somewhat amusing. Grasping at straws, are you?
Anyway, I’ll say this: if “downgrading” the graphics makes for a better game, I’m perfectly ok with it. I’m buying a game, not a Pixar real-time animation.
Try another tone besides JET FUEL CAN’T MELT STEEL BEAMS
You have to put yourself in our shoes. It’s irritating when someone shows up at random to point out a small fact that doesn’t apply to our existing conversation.
I’m sorry man, it’s really weird to jump into a group of people and start talking as if we’re in the middle of the same discussion as you. Like bringing up Killzone 2. No one knows what you’re talking about. Imagine how awkward that would be in real life.
We can look at the pictures. No need to “confirm” anything. We believe you. You’re still missing the point.
Right. The fact that no one outside of Reddit, GAF, or HRose cares about a “downgrade” seems to fly right over.
I carefully avoided saying we don’t care, because he asked us not to say that.
It’s more like we don’t know about the war he’s fighting, rather than our willingness to consent to the consequences.
I do feel like this is all cross-posted from somewhere. “Ergo, you must acknowledge the Killzone 2 trailer!” Huh?
He’s certainly free to ask.
I’m trying to communicate collaboratively in order to demonstrate by example. :)
Ok, this game is shit. The developers are crooks and liars. All of them. You are right and everybody else is wrong. YOU WIN THE ARGUMENT.
Now why don’t you fuck off somewhere else?
In “game” related information, just downloaded the music and listening to it. Obviously it does not sound nearly as well “put together” as a more traditional music album but some of the tracks are surprisingly beautiful. Certainly better than I expected.

Wow. This WILL hurt sales.
I’m all for removing DRM and try to convert pirates in a more friendly way, but having the game out and playable a week before actual legit copies is NOT good.
With so many aching to play the game, then have the only option for a whole week being a pirate copy will work as an incentive to pirating.
Is there even a reason for this week of wait since everything is ready? It’s like they are shooting themselves in the feet.
I’m afraid only veterans of the Big Downgrading War are aware of that. I had to google for it, but it seems it is the first major reported incident in the war. It has been forgotten by most, especially after the most recent incidents like the ones regarding Alien: Colonial Marines and Watch_Dogs, but it still lives in the minds of the veterans as the flare that still burns in their hearts.
Maybe it’s all part of the reptilian conspiracy? One can wonder.
My first thought was, “isn’t there events in the game based on your actions that change the world?” and maybe the village getting a visual upgrade is one of them. If you look at that gif both images from a technical point of view look pretty good, but one just has more “stuff” like more people setting up vendor stations, different and more elaborate buildings in the background. This could really just be something like that going on.
Then again, I’ve heard rumors I’m HRose’s polar opposite. :)

Survivors can never forget
Wait, what? The pirate version is not playable. That’s the whole point. It seems that for a man interested in facts, you don’t ever check them when they seem to confirm your prejudices, huh? Here’s a fact for you: that’s called “confirmation bias”, and in some cases, it is a symptom of pathological obsession.
Gamespot just did their lobby discussion, Kevin sounds so god damn excited by this game :)
I am so glad CDP didn’t fuck this up, not that I ever doubted them. Being a Witcher afficionado of 16 years, this is all so nice.
