Yikes, my CPU (an i5 2500k) is right at that lower threshold.

If you have a good GPU, I wouldn’t be worried. The AMD CPU in the minimum requirements is considerably less powerful than the i5 2500k, and the recommended CPU is about only 14% more powerful for typical applications. I doubt it’s a heavily CPU bound game.

For the record, mine is a i5 4430, which is similar to a 2500k.

Secret text in the teaser I posted earlier.

Yeah, I’ve been surprised at what a powerful old beast of a CPU the 2500K is.

Amazing.

IGN is doing a livestream of the game with CD Projekt devs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PahEFn5aQSg

LA LA LA LA LA LA LA I’m not watching!

Wow, it looks good…

oh crap! My core i7 860 is rated lower than i5 2500K

2500K is a legend, I have it at 4ghz with stock box cooler and I have zero doubt it will run TW3 and every other game this generation like a champ.
My worry is 280X, which should handle PS4-like graphics/res at 60fps, but I want more than that, so I will end up ordering that 970 anyway god dammit.
If only stupid AMD moved their ass and released 390, but latest rumors say E3…bleh

2600k is the legend :p
Mine has been stable @ 4.4Ghz for like 3 years now.

So CDPR are putting out a live action mini-film tomorrow?

ALSO , collectors editions are back in stock @ Gamestop.

And they are all gone…

Looks like it. And I gotta say the teaser looked pretty amazing.

So, what do you guys use to overclock your CPUs? I have 0% knowledge about overclockng a CPU.

I never overclock. So I’m afraid I can’t help you at all.

I used this a few years back, it should still apply.

A new cpu heatsink/fan. I have a Noctua.

And the bios itself. Nothing else.

Well, technically also a software like Prime95 to stress test the cpu speed and be sure it’s stable.

Was this Ciri cosplay posted yet? (SFW)

Saw it over on Reddit today. :D

I’ve got an MSI motherbaord which has OC Genie so I thought I’d give it a try. It didn’t go well as my idle temps climbed into the 70s. I shut down and turned it off. My guess is that I really shouldn’t attempt to overclock with the stock CPU heat sink and fan. My case has some nice big fans but my guess is that isn’t enough.

I’d just give the game a shot without overclocking, I am pretty sure you will be just fine.

I think he’s talking about this guy (to be clear, he is a quest designer, and has stated numerous times that he doesn’t speak for his company when he posts)
Probably have to have a SA account. If so, I’ll quote what he said

I find that explanation misleading. “Downgrade” isn’t really about the technical aspects, it’s about being sold a bill of goods that doesn’t deliver. If you’re going to show target renders then state it plainly. Pre-release game trailers lately are getting to be as useless as pure CGI trailers.

That’s not to say the final game isn’t fun or gorgeous, just that I’d like to know what I’m going to get. It makes me sad because I’d love to play the game that was in the trailers for Dark Souls 2, Watch Dogs, Unity, or Bioshock Infinity (and lets add The Division while we’re at it). I’m tired of being over-promised.
