Coins in PvZ: Garden Warfare (best FPS available for the Xbox One, btw) aren’t an in-app purchase thing, you earn them from playing the game.

EA added micro-transactions to Garden Warfare a couple of weeks back.

Doh! So they did. Never noticed since I was used to just earning the coins via playing.

Yeah, I’m earning plenty on my own. My son however, may need a boost and I’m still unable to buy the coins. There’s supposed to be the option to hit the X button and buy them, but I don’t have that in my game. I’m wondering if I should delete the game and re-install, but I want to know for sure if I will retain all my stats and unlocks if I do. I imagine it’s all tied to my gamertag, but can anyone confirm it works like this on the Xbox One like it did on the 360? If I re-install maybe it will get enabled somehow.

These reports are coming from multiple reliable outlets: http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2014/05/13/streaming-services-may-move-behind-xbox-live-paywall/

That would be rather nice, I think. HBO Nordic only has one freaking app, and thats for Xbox 360. Its a bit jarring having to pay twice for the content.

Interesting. I wonder if that might speed up (or unblock) the release of the BBC iPlayer for XBO.

Hope all they get at E3 is a slow clap. They should not be rewarded with crowd excitement for removing something that should never have been there.

They’ll get wild cheers and thunderous applause - because these conferences are filled with paid rabble.

While I agree with you about how it should never have been the case to begin with, I think a company should always be applauded (figuratively if not literally) when they respond to feedback and correct an issue. That’s the point of feedback, to push for change.

That being said, as a consumer I can understand how that doesn’t mean everything is suddenly forgiven and forgotten, nor do I think it should be.

I guess the PS4 kicking the Xbone’s ass counts as feedback. To bad they didn’t listen to the other kind of feedback in the previous Gen.

I am teh sad.

This thread used to be a source of constant amusement before the consoles where released, but now is on maintenance mode.

Not even a punt about having to pay to use Internet Explorer.

jab

I think the pressure from so many entertainment boxes (PS4, Amazon Fire, Wii U, Roku, really anything attached to the TV) has become so commonplace that they can’t justify the difference any longer.

Like the pic in Teiman’s post indicated, MS only just caught up to circa 2010.

Whoah. Holy shit, if true.

Here’s a shock - we’ve just been told that a Kinect-less Xbox One will be announced shortly. As in, by 4pm today. In 15 mins!

HOLY SHIT.

First, beginning on June 9th, in all markets where Xbox One is sold, we will offer Xbox One starting at $399*. This is a new console option that does not include Kinect. For $399, our new Xbox One offering will continue to deliver access to the best blockbuster games like “Titanfall,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” and the upcoming “Watch Dogs,” “Destiny” and “Sunset Overdrive.” You will also be able to access popular entertainment apps, such as Twitch, YouTube, and Netflix, as well as watch live TV and use OneGuide. Finally, you will continue to be able to use many of the unique features of Xbox One including the ability to get game invites while you watch TV, switch between games and entertainment apps, enjoy Twitch broadcasts, and upload your favorite gaming moments.

Kinect-less Xbox One!

Interesting. That’ll pretty much mark the end of Kinect, won’t it?

We can only pray.

Poor old Kinect. I really do like controlling the telly with my voice. They just need some engaging games that don’t require you to be standing up. I’m surprised they NEVER did anything like the Milo demo.

Yeah, wow. That’s a great move
