So there’s a Sunset Overdrive X-box one bundle? Is it not available on Amazon currently because the game releases tomorrow? Not that I’m thinking of buying an Xbox One just to play Sunset Overdrive or anything.

On a side note, is there any bundle with Kinect that includes anything other than just Kinect? Otherwise it looks like the smartest buy would be the $350 AC bundle… but can I buy a Kinect seperately? (Kinect + Fantasia + my 3 year old sounds like it could be worthwhile)

I have 2 PS3s and an 360. But the thought of giving Best Buy a system with games that are still viable that I haven’t played for a measy $100 seems insane. (Okay, if I had two of the NEW PS3s maybe, but I have a slim which lives upstairs and provides blu-ray playback and an old 80GB which has at least partial PS2 backcompatibility. The new one is far better for media and PSN what with he larger drive, but I can’t get rid of the backwards compatibility for all the old PS2 games I own hat I haven’t played yet.)

Perhaps I don’t need a new console after all… :P

They are. All of the bundle systems are getting the price drop as well.

So for $350 you can get sunset overdrive or AC unity+blackflag. I think the duty bundle is more because it has a bigger HD or something.

Yeah, the CoD bundle has a 1TB HDD. Personally, if I didn’t have an Xbox One, I’d spring for the SO bundle since the game seems fun and the console looks super nice, and 1TB is too small in the long run (so you eventually want an external HDD anyway).

The other question is did they ever fix Kinect to work in short-distance situations? The last version needed something like 8 feet between you and the kinect, and my living room setup doesn’t support that… it’s more like 6 feet or maybe even 5…

I preordered the white bundle with Sunset Overdrive on Amazon, and I was sad to see the $50 off promotion because that promotion would come after my system would be delivered. But Amazon has given me a $50 credit, so kudos to them.

Looking forward to having it my hands when I get out of work today.

Yeah that’s the Amazon pre-order guarantee; they’ll refund you the difference if the price drops before release since they charge you the minute you pre-order most physical products (though not for ebooks apparently).

Yes, the minimum distance for the Xbox One Kinect is 4.6 feet.

The CoD bundle is a terrible deal since you can buy one of the other bundles, a copy of CoD and a 1TB external drive for close to the same price.

Are external hard drives that reliable? I’ve had three of them and all three have died on me. I can’t remember ever having had an internal hard drive die on me, so I’ve assumed that external drives just don’t hold up well, probably because of heat problems and poor ventilation.

Have I just been super unlucky?

Typically they’re no less reliable than internal hard drives if you’re not moving them around and exposing them to potential shock. What brands have you used? Seagate famously had a period where a bunch of their hard drives had a terrible failure rate and a bunch of their external drives used the affected models.
