Best Buy is upping the trade in deal on 360 S’s and PS3 Slims. Get a $50 coupon on top of the regular trade when used to buy an Xbox One. So a 360 S or PS3 plus a controller makes a bundle drop to $190.

Any recommendations for a quality headset that is 5.1 or better?

Do you know how long this offer’s good for? Their website suggests I could get 50 bucks for a 4GB S, which is laughable.

Till the 15th.

Broke down today between the buy 2 get 1 at Target and an ad error in the best but ad and decided today was the day to get one. Which, given id been looking exclusively at the ps4 until the new bundles, says something! Ended up picking up the Ass. creed kinect bundle for $350 at best buy, shadow of mirador, controllers, live gold for a year, etc… And then Diablo iii (to play with the wife), Fantasia (to play with the kiddo) and sunset overdrive (to play alone!) at target on the but 2 get 1 free sale.

That’s probably a year plus of gaming for me.

That sounds fantastic. Congrats on your new gadget mouselock.

I’ve been watching some football on CBS today. (Go Kansas City! A close win). And the NFL app has been updating me throughout the morning about my Fantasy team. Every time someone on my fantasy team scores, I get a notification, and then a couple of minutes later, it says the highlight reel for the score is ready. So I said “Xbox Launch” out loud during one of those notifications, and it showed me the highlight for how my fantasy player scored a touchdown. Great integration of that feature. Then I said “Xbox watch TV” to go back to the game.

Currently I don’t have a cable box downstairs. Will see if I spend enough time downstairs now to change that.

Am I doing something wrong, or is the gesture recognition lousy? Many times the thing couldn’t even track if my hands were open or closed despite me starting with fingers well splayed.

I have never tried gestures. So I don’t know. I use the controller or voice for everything. They recently added pretty nice controller shortcuts to everything a couple of months ago. You can double tap the Xbox button to shortcut between certain apps (following up with up, down, left or right, depending on where you want to go).

If anyone is looking for a heck of a good deal on an XBox One Bundle, Target just posted their Black Friday preview ad. They will be selling the Assassin’s Creed Unity and Black Flag bundled with an XBox One for $329.99 and will be kicking in a $50 Target gift card on top of the XBox One. So if you shop regularly at Target and can use the Gift Card that’s a Next Gen Console with Game for $279, which just seems astonishingly good.

It looks like it will be purchasable online as well as in stores from November 27-29.

Hat tip: Polygon

Wait you got Kinect bundle with Ass Creed for 350?

Yeah, might have to go for that one…

He mentioned an ad error in the best buy ad. So I doubt that price will be easy to replicate. Sounds like a special mouselock-only circumstance.

Well, not me only (some other folks on cheapassgamer mentioned getting it to work too) but yeah, I’d imagine it’s impossible to do now because I’m sure they’ve had guidance from on high to post some disclaimers about the ads and be on the lookout.

Depending on your local Wal-Mart, you might be able to get them to price match the ad if they have the bundle in stock.

Generally, for stuff like that, I just go to Best Buy and play dumb. If they’d said “No, we can’t do that… that’s clearly an error” then I would’ve lived with it. I know it’s an error so, on the one hand, I’m not going to make their lives suck because of an error. On the other, Best Buy has pulled some janky shit with me in the last year (I’ve been one of their ‘You buy way too much shit’ elite members for the past few years, but this year they suddenly decided to quit giving me points for anything). I’d have had close to $100 in points if they hadn’t done that, and failed to apply a price match they said they would for me and the like, so I don’t feel too guilty at this point in costing the company $100 or whatever, but I’m not going to make life shitty for poor, close to or at minimum wage employees.

I’d suggest if you’re willing to brave Black Friday for it, simply picking up the non-Kinect bundle with the target gift card for $329 and then buying the additional Kinect. Turns out the Dance Central game that also comes with the Kinect system is only a $10 game, so assuming you have use for the gift cards the value of the Target black friday bundle is effectively putting its price at $279, + $110 for the sensor = $389 + $10 for the dance game = $399. Not quite as good as what I got, but pretty close.

Bundle sales working?

The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2. Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday. As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks. Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles.

Good for them, I guess. Two week period and “sold-in to retailers” really doesn’t mean anything, but I’m sure the bundles must be helping some.

Wow, that seems like a good deal. I want a XB1 to put in the family room for my kids.

GTA V comes out next week. The kids will love it.

The 10m figure is fairly meaningless because at this point it includes basically their entire holiday shipment. NPD results for October hit tomorrow so they are trying to preempt another loss with this empty PR.

You are such a ray of sunshine, Brad. :)

Anecdotal: I went to Best Buy last night with my dirty old white 360 to do the trade in deal. I got my $100 gift card and my coupon, but they were completely sold out of the Kinectless Xbox Ones. They still had 3 Ass Creed + kinect bundles in stock, and 1 of the CoD bundles in stock (which have a 1 TB disk). To get the basic unit, I’ll need to drive 40 miles north to New Hampshire or 40 miles south to another store that still has a handful. All the stores in and around Boston are sold out.

So, looks like they’re moving some units!

Out of curiosity, did the power the unit up to verify no RROD? I would assume they’d have to…
