The fact that a retail version of State of Decay is coming to the Xbox One isn’t mind-blowing. In fact, it’s sort of ho-hum.

But check out the black banner text at the top:

I’m so buying this(For the 3rd time)! I do find your observation interesting, that its a sales pitch now, that its not available on the PS4.

I think he finds it interesting (or at least I do) that the banner says it’s only available on Xbox One and PC. I’ve never seen that on box art before, at least that I can remember.

But, but, but, it is just proof that MS is committed to PC gaming!

If that’s all they do to screw with PC gaming this cycle, I’m all for it. I’m dreading whatever new bit of unholy fucknuttery they present at GDC. I half expect them to try to get PC gamers to pay for xbox live.

Eight days after posting this, my PS3 60gb unit dies. 7 years of light use was too much for it.

Coincidence? Probably. Let’s see how the used slim PS3 I just ordered from Cowboom holds up, though.

You went with the used slim right away? After my 60 Gb unit died (also very light use over the years), I went for a repair once. Then when it died again 14 months later, I let it stay dead. I do wish I could have finished Demon’s Souls though, so I do miss it sometimes.

Nice set of new features for Upload Studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTVAxFcp-Xg

I’ve created a few clips for fun, and this is all going to make it much easier and much more powerful.

Yeah, from everything I read online, the slims didn’t have the overheating problems that the original systems had, likely due to a die shrink for the chipset. I tried the “hair dryer” trick and got it to boot long enough to eject my Resistance 2 disk, but not much longer. Hooray for cloud saves. Too bad moving over the hard drive won’t let me keep my stuff.

Maybe I’ll take it apart someday and see if redoing the thermal paste works (it did revive a laptop for me recently), but looking at the PS3 teardowns on the internet make me think that $130 for a slim and a Dualshock 3 was a good deal. I have too many unplayed PS3 games to abandon the platform.

Ultimate Game Sale now going on; DOA5 released.

Looks like World of Tanks will be coming to the Xbone “later this year”. Couple of smaller games are now out, including Hand of Fate, which is an indie card battler of some kind (looks like).

Wasn’t WoT announced way back before actual XBone launch?

Yes, it’s been a long time coming.

Well now it’s been re-announced. Or something. I dunno. Will have cross-server gameplay with 360 players, apparently.

Oh, there’s also this newly released “announcement” trailer:

Free Fast & Furious tie-in game coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360.

It’s not confirmed yet, but the scuttlebutt is that the current $40 price for Xbox Live Gold is a permanent price change.

That would be a positive change.

MS Store support is telling people that it’s a “time-limited promotion” but with no set end date.

I’m very surprised. Never expected MS to be the first to blink. They really are aggressively going after Sony.
