I played the EA Access trial of RM Golf, and it didn’t run that well either. And top top it off, the graphics looked seriously last-gen.

So I got to play with the new xbox one elite controller. That is one sexy controller. Everything is swappable. It’s wireless and will work on pc and xbox one. adding bottom flippers are a little weird at first, but amazing (or can be removed). Hair trigger switch is awesome. All the hardware uses magnets so they’re easy to switch out yet don’t fall off.

My biggest complaint is that the software doesn’t currently allow for adding buttons. It apparently does on the pc, but on one you’ll only be able to remap any existing button. It’s expensive at $150, but the added heft coupled with an awesome swappable cross-pad (CAPCOM why have you forsaken me!!!) pretty much makes this an instant buy for me.

The weight and the grips do feel awesome on it. After playing with one at the office, I also am nearly convinced. But spending $150 on a controller is batty for me, I think. Especially with the threat of new plastic instruments in the future.

Would it be reasonable to expect to see it down to ~$100 during the holiday sales? That would make it only a $40 premium over the stock controller.

If everyone agrees not to buy one, the price will be cut in half soon enough, right? :D Band together!

I’ve been playing the new ea golf game on ps4. It IS pretty limited and so so looking, but then the golf options for this gen and for the pc are limited these days.

I’m hoping ea build on this / complete it since they claim no new version next year. In the current state it is pretty thin. No replays. Can’t see opponents play along with you. Putting view is very unhelpful, etc.

Diego

Something tells me no. It comes out in October and I’m guessing they’ll release a small number of units that will be picked up by pros and early adopters. They’re going to go for that “Razor” audience. I wouldn’t expect it to drop in price for at least 6 months but who knows. I don’t work for MS and I have no idea how those things work out.

That said, As much as I don’t like spending money on peripherals I thought the controllers was spot on.
It feels very much the same as the standard control. It’s the same size not smaller although it felt that way.
It has some heft. Nothing you’re going to complain about, but it is heavier.
The flippers just pop into small holes on the bottom and lock with magnets.
The triggers have a small switch on both sides so you hair trigger them separately. the cross pad can be replaced with a disc perfect for Street Fighter V (DAMN YOU CAPCOM!!!)

I didn’t see the remapping interface, but I believe it can be done on the fly. Currently there is no way to add buttons on xbox one (only PC). MS isn’t planning to do it. Although I suspect that if it sells well and people really want it they’ll look into it in a future iteration.

OK I’m really dense I guess. I am in preview now, how do I find X360 games on the store?

Edit: I see em on my Apps and Games, but no way to buy em in store? So if I want a game on 1 I don’t have on 360 I have to buy on an actual 360 connected to its real store?

You can buy them on XBox.com from your PC.

Anyone in here have GTA V and want to run heists? You need 4 players for them, they take around 15-30 minutes per sub-mission, with a big mission at the end of 3 or so missions. I assume, because I’ve only gotten to play the first one. Getting 4 people to join from a 20 person server is impossible. I think there is a QT3 gang too. I’m PST and can usually play from 8Pm-11pm. That’s 11-2 EST. :)

Who wants to tear up Los Santos?

Anyway, been enjoying Destiny and Titanfall. Oh, and Diablo 3. Not too much time to play, but wouldn’t mind joining up with QT3ers when possible.

I picked up Titanfsll during the big sale but haven’t played it yet. Many folks still going in there?

Never had a problem getting into a game in short order. Maybe not all the different variations are the same, but from what I’ve seen it has a decent enough pop.

Still getting used to FPSs on a controller again. Letting my son (11) get me some unlocks (because I’m lame that way). He’s a savant about jumping on Titans and kill shooting their head.

That’s what kept me from falling in love with that game. I love being on foot, but I feel like every time I step into a Titan, I’m a weak vulnerable kitten that’s going to get stomped. (And then I proceed to get stomped without getting any kills). I just thought, maybe getting to be in a Titan would be cool, but instead it was just terrifying. You just become a huge target. Most of the time I just kept my Titan on follow mode and kept going on foot. But of course, as a result, I never did get any better at being a Titan pilot.

Thanks Wendelius

You can be incredibly effective as a Titan if you know how to be defensive. This especially means knowing how to use (and conserve) boost. And trying to live long enough to activate your core power.

New Vegas goodness in prep for Fallout 4 native.

Wait, New Vegas already works on the Xbox One? So the backward compatibility list has expanded past the initial list?

The awesome thing about backward compatibility is that I see a lot of publishers offering the Xbox 360 version-on-Xbox One as a freebie for the Xbox One games. The new Rainbow Siege is giving One players both Rainbow Six Vegas games. It costs Ubisoft practically nothing.

Every 360 game is backwards compatible on Xbox One.
