I’m trying the integrated Twitch out right now. Game feed only. I’m going to approach the game a whole new way for me and just wander around, being a law abiding responsible citizen. No guns.

Gears 1 and Shadow Complex are available through BC now for those in the preview program.
Oh hell yes, been meaning to play Shadow Complex again.

So it seems like they will be available later today, and not now as I said. Sorry about that.

The cooler announcement is that anyone who buys Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (the from-ground-up remake of the original Gears), will also get all four 360 Gears games via backwards compatibility.
“Limited time” offer in that you need to buy Ultimate Edition some time in 2015.
This also means that all four games will be available via back compat later this year for anyone who already owned them on 360.
MS is pretty much just giving away the four* games then? People are already talking about borrowing or renting the Ultimate Edition disc just to get the free games.
*Note that only Gears 2 has not been one of the Games With Gold selections already. Just about everyone with Live should have Gears 1, 3, and Judgment.

Shadow Complex is now available, while we’re still waiting for Gears to appear. The SC prologue has some framerate issues (don’t remember if the original game had those), but after that it runs great.
Haven’t seen anyone mention it, but for those who upgrade a home PC to Windows 10, the Xbox one streaming - allowing you to play games on your PC w/ PC controls and all that - works quite well. It’s nice not having to leave my home office when I’m having to monitor things at work, yet still play some golf, and soon, NHL.

No Gamescom thread? Anyway, Quantum Break looks a whole lot more interesting than the ship crashing into a bridge clip from E3 2014.
MS promised that all future Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles will be BC on Xbox One. That means Xbox One owners will effectively get four GWG titles with their monthly subscription.
So I think I am finally going to pull the trigger and get an Xbox One. I am thinking of picking up the 1TB Forza 6 bundle that will come out in mid september (Well more accurately asking my wife for that for my birthday which is near the end of September.) I see there are quite a few SKUs for the system, is there anything I should know before pulling the trigger? Have there been hardware revisions since launch?
The OTA DVR functionality might be the reason I pull the trigger on an XB1, now that MS is pulling the plug on Windows Media Center.

Yeah, the list of reasons for me to pick up an XBO have been piling up recently. No DVR or OTA capability were big disappointments for me when it launched. Nice to see them correcting those. I still love WMC, but my current setup requires me to transfer files before watching (one machine records, the other plays on the TV). I’d certainly repurpose an USB drive or two for the purpose of a DVR. I’d still prefer if I could somehow utilize my HDHomeRun and save my self the cost of the OTA tuner, but I doubt Microsoft is going to add that functionality to the XBO.

Support for a HD homerun would be awesome. I’ve got a roof antenna, with the HD Homerun up in the attic. Having to attach an antenna to the XBO will be annoying, but I agree that MS is finally providing some of the media functionality that could make it a compelling purchase.
Downloaded Shadow Complex after copying my 360 save to the cloud (still feels goofy to write that) then booted it up on my Xbone and was off with my old save! This is so great - I had pretty much resigned myself to losing my arcade purchases after my 360 dies, so great that we will have access to at least some of them on the new console.

Given that even SiliconDust doesn’t support my two HDHomeRuns anymore (their recent kickstarter for their DVR app only supports the latest models), I’m not holding out a lot of hope there. It’ll be interesting to see how the DVR functionality works, and whether it supports multiple tuners. I currently have two HDHomeRuns on my HTPC, so with four tuners I essentially never have a recording conflict. I doubt I’ll be able to replicate that functionality on the Xbox One. (But I have no inside info on how this is going to work.) But definitely would need at least two tuners to consider retiring the HTPC.
Oh, man, that Crackdown 3 video has me drooling. Wonder what happens with the orbs on top of a building when you knock it down?

That was my thought after I wrote that post as well. I do know that when they were playing with something (network streaming to android maybe?) the HDHomeRun I had wasn’t supported because it couldn’t hold/run the firmware (memory/cpu too small I think). I’m not sure if replicating the existing tuner-over-network functionality would have the same issues, but it could be that the model is so old they’re not interested in even trying.
I did see a post where someone said you could get to the HDHomeRun tuner through the XBO with the media player app, but again, it looked like more recent models only.
This might be a dumb question but does OTA and DVRs let you record more than one channel at a time or is it like the Dish where you’re locked in to one channel?
