The herbal bath and the point about combining 2 franchises for a bigger pile of money was pretty funny, though a bit sad cause it’s true.

That was a chuckle for me. I still find him funny, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood this time to laugh out loud.

Yes, OK, he didn’t do a complete review. But the takeaway is that if you put a single-player mode in your game, you need to make it not suck. Dyacking and weaving with “but you’re reviewing it wrong” won’t make the critics change their minds.

But his humor fell flat because it was all colored by the fact that he hasn’t actually experienced the game mechanics yet, because you simply don’t get them in single player.

But they’re always like that. Most of his reviews don’t give the games a ‘fair shake’, and that’s because they’re not his target.

The goal, as I’ve taken it, is to address the silly issues inherent to a given game that we all come across but ignore because we like said game. They’re just snarky catharsis and pop culture reference.

Cute, actually … But in a way you have a genuine point. His reviews are more pure because we don’t have to take them seriously. Because they are classic philosopher-comedian stuff. A reviewer that has to come up with an ultimate objective assessment of a game doesn’t naturally reach the truth, because there is no natural truth to enjoyment.

He simply examines the qualities of the game …

Which bestows you, too, with the philsopher-comedian crown.

Is it spoiler free? I haven’t played Braid yet and am trying to stay away from spoilers until I do. Yahtzee can sometimes be a bit loose with plot events while making his points, and I’d like to avoid that if possible.
