It’s all tongue in cheek, with the long running gag in the gaming community that ONLY WOMEN PLAY THE SIMS. And for that they are clearly inferior! I mean, it’s not a real game!!

It’d be interesting to see the actual numbers on people playing the sims. What percentage are women?

He makes some funny points about the underlying motivation for playing the game. It kind of is mundane work with a dash of control fantasy, in a way most other video games aren’t.

Tom touched on this in his Sims interview. The split really is in favor of women.
