Yahtzee 5-starred all the guitar songs on Expert in Beatles: Rock Band? I’m very impressed.

Maybe he was exaggerating for effect. I’m a fair to middling Expert guitarist, I 5-starred most of the songs but there’s at least 5 songs that I struggled with. I’d have a difficult time producing full 5 stars across the board without some serious practice.

Boy they really McGriddled the Escapist site with ODST, huh?

No kidding. I was about ready for a little flood dude to pop up and go, “YOUR SHOTGUN AWAITS, MY LORD”

Huh, where are you seeing this? I only see the front page review and a contest banner.

This is how you McGriddle something.

I’ve never heard McGriddle as a verb, and hadn’t thought of that IGN thing in years, yet I knew exactly what you meant.

Yes all the time.

I owe a real debt of gratitude toward Internet geeks for preserving these hilarious relics of world wide web absurdity, and bringing them back up at the proper time. They always entertain me.

Zero Punctuation was definitely McGriddled yesterday with ODST ads. I wish someone had taken a screenshot of it. (I haven’t been there today, is it still the same today?)

Darkest of Days reviewed.

Isn’t that the late stages of Prototype?

You do get the air support, but not the beam weapons. Although now that you mention it, the whipfist does separate the top and bottom halves of the zombies over a fairly wide area.

'zactly

It’s a good point. Rampaging through zombie-filled streets was certainly the highlight of Prototype. I even suffered through 2/3 of the story missions again after beating the game to get the city back to peak infection rate, just so I’d have more zombies to kill. But ideally mayhem of that caliber should have a better structure around it.

main problem I had with the freeform part of Prototype was that mayhem was a bit contained. I’d have liked it that if I killed a Strike Team they’d have sent two or more, etc. alternatively, the harder infected types if I managed to destroy a hive or whatever. Late game, I would attack a hive or a base, kill it in 5 mins, they all that was left to do was move and repeat.

granted, the side challenges helped in that regard, but it would have been fun to enter full on apocalypse more in the freeform section.

Dumde(e)dum !!!

I loved the part where the people from the future are showing the protagonist a slide show, and on it is Jean Claude Van Damme’s Butt, crossed out.

Middle managers who can’t tell the difference between fun and microsoft access.

Hehe. There’s probably some truth to that.

I think they are working on Doom 4: Hell on Earth.

Eesh, I expect this to be particularly obnoxious …
