I was thinking controller 2 got that ability myself. Coop for sure, but maybe not flying. I’ll have to fire it up later today and verify.

I’ve been a fan from the demo-reviews that landed him the Escapist spot, and I sat through only about 30 seconds before I decided this bit wasn’t worth watching through to the end. The wit that (usually) fills his video clips was notably absent.

It was sonic 3. One of the biggest complaints about sonic 2 was how little playing as tails differed from sonic, tails only could “fly” when he was coming down from the sky after dying - which the player couldn’t control.

Sonic 3’s levels aren’t as tightly designed, and the bonus stages are even worse than the ones in Sonic 2. Overall Sonic 2 is better, but with Sonic & Knuckles Sonic 3 is the clear winner.
