Well, looks like I won’t be getting THAT game. Back to Burnout. :)

This week: Transformers: War for Cybertron

PS: No video next week.

Huh, site seems to be down. Can anyone else get to it?

I can’t reach it either, but it looks like a DNS problem. (Edit: working now)

Can anyone else get to it?

Nope. It’s down.

I blame Merritt.

It’s up now, at least for me.

Works for me too. Great review.

“Shia LeButtFuck”?

Tell us how you really feel, man.

Your generation’s Othelo.

I felt like a lot of that review was addressed to MattKeil, our resident Transformers fan here at Qt3, instead of at me. Including a lot of that weird hostility. :)

I liked Pavarotti as a Barbapapa.

Well, all I can say is that as far as the single-player portion of the game goes, he’s not wrong about anything.* The story is riddled with in-jokes that a non-fan just isn’t going to get, and beyond that it’s pretty standard fare. The competitive and co-op multiplayer (campaign and horde mode) are what won me over on WfC.

*He’s wrong about the “borrowing from the movie” thing, but I don’t expect a non-fan to know what the War Within comic series was to begin with.

Aww how cute.

I really wish there was a PC version of Shadow of the Colossus.

Aren’t there PS2 emulators that run off the PS2 discs by this point? There’s one for the Wii that can actually run stuff in 720p.

Yeah ,there are, but I mean several consoles games I really like and would love to play them on the PC with mouse and keyboard but having been developed (or at least decently ported) for the platform, namely Shadow of the Colossus, the God of War series, Bayonetta, etc.

last time I check, Shadow of the Colossus was one of the games that didn’t play well with any of the ps2 emulators out there. Also the gamecube/wii platform is very similar to the pc so it makes emulation more straight forward.

Playing any of those games with k/m sounds like a horrible, horrible experience. It would be nothing but a handicap.

I think the same when I see someone playing an FPS with a controller and still they seem to enjoy it.
