Blowjobs are apparently really, really cheap in Australia.

A bit like winning a race at the special olympics, wouldn’t you say?

surprised he didn’t do an american football joke

True, but I do think he’s a legitimately good character.

This week: Splatterhouse

Yeah, that sounds about right to me. It’s actually a pretty fun brawler, but some of the mechanics are pure bullshit.

Wow, and the enthusiasm has died I guess.

Epic Mickey

The simile of how third-person game cameras are like the working class is the sound of truth being said.

I never did grasp why there was ever enthusiasm about Epic Mickey in the first place, but there was enough of it that I figured it was probably alien pod related, so I kept my head down and stayed quiet lest I be pointed and screeched at.

People wanted American McGee’s Mickey*.

*The concept art was pretty sweet.

But no, it’s got to be blob monsters!

From the advance materials, I thought Epic Mickey was supposed to be dark. Not sure exactly how, but I was getting a sort of ICO-esque vibe from the few bits of concept art. You know, dark shadow demons and whatnot. What I found very puzzling was that I knew what Disney was like, how terribly uptight they were about their image, and I was having a hard time reconciling the two. Obviously (B) was correct and (A) was nonexistent.

The camera is like the working class.

And how. I hoped it would at least achieve the heights of Kingdom Hearts 2, but operating on inferior technology to the PS2 really hamstrung the game, it seems. I liked the cutscenes for a while, but had no interest in playing a bog standard platformer with Wii controls with no compelling novelties to draw me in.

While I naturally disagree with Epic Mickey slamming, “Edgy as a spherical cake in the middle of something” is a fantastic line.

I still feel a punch in the face is needed for whoever decided every jump was worthy of vibration.

Last week was the Holiday 2010 filler episode.
This week, the far more substantial Top (and Bottom) 5 of 2010.

I’ve only played one game on that those lists, and I totally agree with its placement at the top game of 2010.

I agree with his top 5 and I am going to have to say that I also agree with his top pick.

I would like to know how many people who list Just Cause 2 as their top game of the year completed it 100%. I ran out of ideas on how to keep it interesting around the 50% mark.

It wasn’t my top game of the year, and I only got to about 33%, but that amounted to about 30h of game time, if I remember correctly, every moment fun. So even though I didn’t technically “complete” it, I still think it was a great game.
