I rate Caesarbears definition of what a review is supposed to be as a 7,9.

Skyrim!

Aww, Rogue’s gone from the celebrity club thing advertisement.

Hey, that was another game he liked!

Cool, no spoilers. But his opening experience in the game seems to be quite different from mine. I don’t recall having a choice. I remember a menu thingie telling me I had a choice, but I only saw one person I could follow, so I followed that person. I wonder which side I chose? The guys who were trying to kill me or the other guys? Oh well, probably not important.

It’s not much of a spoiler, but at the point where you can run inside cover, you’re given a choice to follow the imperial or the stormcloak. If you listen to the dialog of the two guys yelling at each other, and then read the screen as it tells you to follow one or the other, you’ll notice where you need/want to go.

I figured that’s where I missed what I missed. But Godzilla was attacking the place, so I was a little distracted and didn’t read the on-screen messages, so I just followed the person I saw in front of me at the time.

No blame, I did the same thing the first time through. The general “gigantic flying lizard is attacking” thingy was a wiz-bang start for a game, and a great way to get things rolling.

Horses in Skyrim just do not give a fuck.

Too true. Once I fast-travelled to some ruin or other built on the edge of a big fuck off cliff - Shadowmere spawned right behind me and merrily pushed me off. That didn’t half change my mind about save on travel.

I’ll always remember you, floating ground lady!

I’m pretty sure that with the default FOV, you’ll frequently only see one of them at the follow-choice moments, too. I only realized there were two choices with a subsequent character start and enjoying the godzilla-attack scenery. Sort of a live pan-and-scan error.

Wow, I’m utterly surprised at the level of unawareness in this and other posts about the intro. The two guys briefly stop to talk to each other, and both yell at you to follow them. Seriously, were you people shitfaced when you started the game?

On the plus side, it affects nothing other than who you get led to at the beginning of the game, you can still join either side.

There’s probably a joke about quest arrows in here somewhere.

A lot depends on where you’re standing relative to the two men. I’ve played it where it was obvious there was a choice, and times when it wasn’t, where the Imperial ran ahead and all I could hear was the Stormcloak yelling at me to follow him–so I did.

^ Yes. I`m just now realizing by this thread that there is a second guy to follow. The quest pop-up indicated to follow this guy OR that guy, but I really had no idea in the heat of the moment who either men were. I just followed whoever was closest, which happened to be Hadvar.

How about slaying both and rolling over whereever you feel like? Can you do that?

Saints Row The Third

Rather surprising not completely positive review.

This week, it’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. NB: Spoilers for AC:Brotherhood.

Both Bethesda and CDProjekt over-estimate how much information people absorb when they’ve just started a game and there something setting the screen on fire.

But only if you care about the 2012 stuff. As far as I can tell, I am the only person who does not hate that part of the AC story.
