Have to applaud that one, it’s the best he’s done for a while. Loved it when he rejects the game :)

It’s ALIVE! ALIIIIIIVE!

Holy shit, are you STILL crying about the music?

What? Are you for real, Merritt?

The intro is growing on me, I think it’s a rather well done montage.

That’s the first one I’ve zoned out on. I dunno if I’m tired, or if this week his speed-freak drone ran together and created a keening sound that put me to sleep, but I came around halfway through, saw he was still rabbiting on, and hit CMD-W so he’d fuck the shut up.

Was it funny?

"No, I replied, no I do not. I reject your stupid fucking arbitrary gameplay. "

Bravo, you have given me words I will use many times in the future against Japanese games, Nintendo in general.

Proper quote.

Cause I think World of Warcraft sucks.

I love the image of the female sidekick lying on the ground, with huge lettering above her “Press X to not die”. And his character sits back in a lawn chair, waiting for her to die, and lettering changes to “You going to Press X or what”. Heehee. Very funny episode.

"No, I replied, no I do not. I reject your stupid fucking arbitrary gameplay lengthening World of Warcraft grind quest. "

That’s almost exactly the words I used when I finally gave up on Final Fantasy XII, after countless hours of grind.

Ah yeah, I couldn’t figure out the word lengthening. I’d have added it on. However, it’s not WoW grind quest – it’s a nintendo grind quest. Only it’s easier to pick on WoW.

He mentions when he gives up on those devil-root things that you can skip ahead but he had no desire to. In fact, you can’t skip ahead past that point: the episodes past there all require you to unlock that requisite number of arbitrary dross points before you’re allowed to skip to them, utterly undermining the point of letting players skip past bits they don’t fancy finishing in the first place.

Fucking horrible game, I’m glad he didn’t go against the consensus for the sake of it.

Loved the review. The new music, however, is entirely atrocious and totally out of line with his character.

So the music wasn’t some elaborate gag, huh. :(

Otherwise this was great, best one in a while.

You guys who didn’t like this one should just stop watching his reviews :(

I’ve become indifferent to the music. I guess that’s what he’s hoped for.

Good review. I could really care less about the music.

Though, all apologies to our own musician, I kind of wish he’d get Kris Straub to do his intro. “Look at me, I’m on the interneeeeeet.”

I just destroyed my computer because of the music. I get that way about intros and outros sometimes.

Atari should be happy with that review. His comment about the fire almost makes me want to go watch a YouTube about it or something. It raised my interest level above 0 – success!

[EDIT] Pretty cool. Maybe I’ll buy it for PC in a few years when it hits $3 in the bargain bin. Just to play a sandbox mod that only includes fire.

My favorite ZP so far, and not just because I totally agree with it.

The line about the wounds looking like bits of ham glued to Carnby fucking killed me.

Perfect.

Speaking of this game, looks like it’s $25 at GoGamer for PC and PS2 versions.

Amen.
