In other news, I just got an email from gogamer advertising AitD on sale, 50% off. COINCIDENCE?

You know, it’s really not as bad as they say.

The controls are Resident Evil bad. And the monsters keep attacking as you fiddle with inventory, and that bitch IS useless.

But…well, I don’t know. I can make myself play this still and when it works, it’s fucking great. There’s going to be some real lessons learned from how this game works I bet, and what didn’t work, that smart games will learn from.

The lightsaber fight at the end of Episode 1 was phenomenal, and the advances made in CG for the effects benefited many subsequent films.

Doesn’t stop anyone from disparaging it, nor should it.

Thats what I’m going to do. The music was a big part of the funny. It would be like a funny 3 panel penny arcade strip where they decided to replace the first panel with a gif of a strobe light. Less funny, more annoying, time to stop being a viewer.

If the fifteen seconds at the beginning and the end are the funniest part of a three minute bit for you, then you probably shouldn’t have been bothering watching it in the first place.

That would be a super witty and awesome reply if anyone had actually said that.

OK just saw the new intro for the first time.

Yikes! Make the bad man stop. With all due respect to whoever created it, the intro does not jive with the skits. In fact, it anti-jives. Please, just remove it. I understand you can’t use unlicensed music, so rather than stab me and everyone else for 15 seconds before every skit, just… stop using unlicensed music.

Uh, Rob Merritt pretty much did. Artistic license in the response (Funniest part vs Big Part), but yeah.

There’s a big difference, though. The music on its own might only contribute 30 or 40 funny, but when added on to the rest of the review it could bump up the video’s total funny by 50 or 60.

I think part of the issue people are having with the new intro and outro is simply that it is so loud and jarring compared to the way Yahtzee used to do it. Combine that with the aforementioned complete lack of irony in the music, it’s pretty much the diametric opposite of the old intro/outro. It’s a violent change. People get cranky about that shit.

To my knowledge, Yahtzee is still very happy with the new intro/outro so it’s probably not going anywhere soon.

Hence the term “Artistic license”

Seriously, why even defend Rob Merritt? He thinks Daredevil is one of the best super hero movies ever.

OK THAT DOES IT LET’S BUST OUT THOSE FUNNY PIE CHART / BAR GRAPHS PEOPLE

o.O

That’s definitely terrorist watch list material.

Despite everyone here being polite, I bet the author of the intro is a Qt3 reader, and is now crying himself to sleep in a corner. Shame on you all.

They’re being polite because I wrote the music. We bashed it around pretty comprehensively a few pages back. :)

Heh, well there we go!

You should’ve said you needed the freelance money for your dog that was dying of cancer or something. That would have shut them up for at least two weeks!

Damn thing doesn’t load for me in a couple of browsers, even when I use my fearsome hacking abilities to parse the source html and try to view the file directly here. That makes me sad - did anyone else have issues? Have latest flash player etc.

The videos haven’t been loading at all for me for at least a week. I’m in Finland. Tried Firefox and IE. Otherwise the Zero Punctuation page loads OK.

You want anti-jive?
