Ah I see. Being muslim, there’s always the issue of making sure they use pig-free gelatin when making marshmallows. So maybe I’ll never get to try one.
Ah. A quick google search reveals they do in fact use pork gelatin.
They are, however, still an excellent subject for science.
I’m kind of surprised that Peeps aren’t vegan yet, just because why not? But the ones in my kids easter baskets just say gluten-free and fat-free.

You are missing absolutely nothing. They are garbage, and have this weird gritty texture due to the sugar coating. Easily and by far my least favorite candy adjacent item ever.
I’ll take Peeps over Circus Peanuts any day.

You know what, that’s a hard choice for me.
It’s definitely been longer since I had the circus peanuts though. And my memory of them makes me not especially keen to rectify this.

My dad used to eat those like candy. I don’t think I’ve had them or Rolaids in probably decades. To date, I don’t get heartburn though.
Peeps are tolerable in that if I eat one, I won’t actually throw-up. These days though, i prefer my sugar intake to be more worthwhile.
Peeps are great for people that are vore-curious, but would never admit it. Just like, put a whole animal in your mouth all at once.
These things confound me. Everything about them is mystifying.
They sell in sufficient quantity for three different companies to keep them in production? There’s a consistent supply of that many people trying them for (presumably) the first and only time? Why are they banana flavored, but colored orange? Are they ever not stale?
No advertising, and no word of mouth! People must just buy them out of sheer curiosity.
I wonder if any circus peanut facilities do tours. What does a circus peanut taste like, fresh off the… What is it that makes circus peanuts, anyway? A combination extruder and press? Whatever, I want to see it.
