I do for some things but not others. Anything, “in brine,” gets rinsed. A lot of things I thaw I’ll also rinse as juices get all over them when thawing. However, my habit is that I do rinse a -whole- chicken both inside and out. I shouldn’t have to, but like you mentioned, there are a lot of small things left at times and I want to start from a known good fresh slate before I cook a while bird, either full or spatchcocked.

The issue is that I can’t do this with a turkey. I am aware of spreading bacteria when I do rinse a chicken but we’re talking in a sink that’s fairly deep. But not deep enough for a turkey and I’d worry about splashing out, etc. So I guess even I draw the line somewhere.

From an “official cdc” perspective, I believe it’s actually less sanitary to rinse raw meat, as it can cause splatter of infectious agents which ends up being more dangerous on the surfaces they land, compared to being on the meat and cutting board which are going to get cooked and washed.

But really, I think it’s one of those things that doesn’t really matter either way, so do whatever you want.

What fuckery is this even I can’t

Are they just shaped that way or do they taste like cheese?

My taste buds will never know.

On the other hand

Even though KFC, I’d be down for some biryani.

Everyone involved should be offended, but I kinda want to try it.

I mean biriyani is fantastic. So on the one hand, yay! On the other why would I go there over, say, Biriyani Corner where its made by actual Indian cooks.

Yeah, that sounds amazing, I just wish it wasn’t KFC doing it.

In your case I’d definitely go to Biryani Corner. India is probably a bit out of the way just for KFC takeout.

Review says they do not taste like cheese, but they don’t actually say what they taste like. oh at the end they claim orange and vanilla flavor.

Are they suggesting there’s a single chicken leg on top of an entire bucket of veg?

I’m also curious about the “KFC’s 5X Safety” and what that means.

EDIT: looks like it is probably covid related.

And now I’m watching KFC India’s YouTube channel

I would absolutely eat biryani from KFC.

I’d eat biryani that I found in an unlabeled box on the street.

KFC in Asia is very different, and almost entirely better, than KFC in the US. They have a wide range of country specific menu items. In places with any significant Hindu populations, it’s a very standard fast food offering, since hamburgers are off the menu, but in general, it’s also very popular as a halal offering.

Which is to say, I bet KFC Biryani is probably pretty good.

In my experience KFC anywhere outside the US is better. Certainly been my finding in Europe and Asia at least.

There are probably 200 places within 5 miles of me that I would get biryani from ahead of KFC.

The last time I had it was in Belgium.

There’s no KFC in Belgium itself so I got it in Cologne train station on the way to visit my brother who was in Belgium.

And then missed the train…

And ended up staying in a hostel overnight and then getting to Leuven in Belgium the next morning.

Still carrying 2 buckets of KFC.

Popped it in the microwave and it still tasted good !
