I can’t remember the exact clock numbers, but yes, it is either full speed or just a hair underclocked with the C2D.
I love my C2D MBP, I’ve had it a little over a week now.

If you want an ultraportable, there are better options than the MacBook.
Comes in pink. NUFF SAID
There are many Windows notebooks that fit the ultraportable niche. None of them are a Mac, though :)
Once you get used to two-finger scrolling you can never go back.
That’s what she said.
I’m looking for a Mac specifically because I have a shit ton of PCs
And here i am about to go out of town on work for two weeks (possibly, at least).
Refurb MacPro Core Duo = 1500. X1600, + WinXP/Boot Camp.
New MacPro Core2 = 2500$+
Dell XPS super laptop = 2300+$ BUT it comes with a pretty good-to-great card; 7900 GS. And i won’t have to install XP…
Bleh.
Remember, with Dell it’s all about those kooky koupons. If you buy at the price on the website, you’re a sucker. It’s lame, but it’s how Dell does business.
Yeah, but the coupons frequently exclude the high-end laptops.
In the last year or so this has increasingly been the case. I got a killer deal on the XPS laptop of two generations back, but they don’t offer anything like that anymore on those models, and haven’t ever since then from what I’ve seen.

I just went for this deal ($1449 actually), but not at the Apple store… I went with Smalldog so I could avoid taxes. That saved me over $100 easily. I thought about the non-pro MacBook but couldn’t bring myself to buying something with a GMA 950 in it. I just know I’d regret it later.
It will arrive tomorrow, I’m pretty excited.
