WTF? If this is true, what happens with Relic and DoW2?
I call BS on that one. I’ve heard earlier from someone (not directly working for THQ) that they axed most of their Euro HQ, but I find it hard to believe that the whole company goes the way of the Dodo after four or five unprofitable quarters. Just shutting down? Not trying to sell any studios or franchises before that? Sounds unlikely.
I hope it isn’t true too.
Would also mean that one of my most anticipated sequels, SR3, would have to find a new publisher too. =/
N-Europe have posted an updated & apologised.
So instead of contacting THQ to confirm the rumor, THQ contacted them to debunk it.

Not sure about Relic, but I wouldn’t worry about DoW2. The game is pretty much done and with a license to print money.
Really? I didn’t know DoW sold so well.
It sold well enough to justify three expansions and a true sequel. That tends to imply some level of financial success.

I can’t confirm this, but I heard that the washington post was going to buy THQ.

Something is happening but it is probably not the whole company shutting down. Maybe it is just the Europe office?
They’re “reshuffling” their European wireless division, but not shutting it down - both joystiq and n-europe have been contacted by THQ and have updated their stories.
