What’s funny is I’ve been playing a hell of a lot of Zeus in the last few weeks thanks to GOG. This is awesome news, and so good to see Jeff and Chris back at it in game design.
Good news,indeed.
My wife loves these games, she will be pleased
Great news and yes, please make it fun and humorous. Day one for me, too.
Great to hear not only that everyone is alive and kicking, but also about the notion of a new city builder IP made by you guys. Excellent news!
Woot! I loved Tilted Mill. Played the hell out of Hinterlands and would very much enjoy a city builder from the same guys. It would be cool if they managed to sneak in a little adventuring element as well, sort of a Hinterlands in reverse (in that game you were an adventurer first and city manager second).
Wow, what an exciting surprise. I can’t wait for this!
Yay! I’m glad to hear that they’re going back to a bit more “traditional” city-builder system. That is, I never did manage to adjust to the Children of the Nile system.
Excellent.
I wonder if they have access to such sales figures. Maybe that’s why?
(Hell, just hearing “Similar to Zeus and Pharoah” is enough to make me willing to give them money. Where’s the damn kickstarter when you need it? :P )
It gives me a warm feeling inside. They’ll get my money, either now through a Kickstarter or later when its released.
I went to Steam to try and rate this up on Greenlight, but it’s not there. Too soon? ;)
Woohoo!!!
Pharaoh is still probably one of my favorite games of all time. So very exciting to hear!
In fact, I think I might need to go dig up either Pharaoh or Zeus or RotMK or something…
Oh this is exciting. City building has been one of my favorite genres for a long time, and seriously needs more love.
But didn’t they make that horrible Societies game?
Not sure if I am excited for this new game or not… :|
Oh, you mean Sim City Societies, the game that got better post-release support than just about any non-MMO I can recall? That game? The game that ended up as one of the most enjoyable and playable strategy builders in the market?
All that said…
…you guys do realize that there’s a game called Caesar 4 out there that is absolutely still worthy of your attention if you can find it…right?
Sim City Societies was pretty awful and damn near unplayable at the end because of performance issues. It’s not like I had a subpar computer at the time. Loved the idea of Societies, hated the execution and the fact you really had to try hard not to succeed.
I enjoyed Children of the Nile and think Hinterland is theirs right, so I hope this game has a better UI and better visuals than Hinterland, more depth then Children of the Nile plus better pacing too. I am excited about what they could do with it.
Oh boy, a new Tilted Mill game! I love their past stuff, I’m looking forward to seeing what–
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooh, i didn’t see that :-( … but Niles had walkers, and they went out to get there stuff instead of relying on walkers/merchants and stuff to come around like in Zeus.
