'Tis the season to watch A Christmas Carol. At least seven of them.

That’s the nicest thing that anyone’s ever done for me.

If I had a (space) cannon I would fire it!

Because I like life!

In case y’all are wondering what the heck we’re talking about:

Every time I watch that version, I can’t help thinking that Andy Bernard of The Office’s dream of dreams would be a chance to be the lead in “Thank You Very Much” in a stage adaptation of “Scrooge”.

The one I’ve always wanted to see is Carol for Another Christmas, a 1964 TV adaptation written by Rod Serling and directed by Joseph Mankiewicz. The cast alone is INSANE: Sterling Hayden, Robert Shaw, Peter Sellers, Eva Marie Saint, and Ben Gazzara!

And that’s to say nothing of Mancini’s soundtrack:

The whole movie is available on Youtube from time to time.

Interestingly, Mankiewicz produced the 1938 movie version too. :)

I just found it on Vimeo, though the quality’s not the best! :)

It’s (unfortunately) a tremendously relevant film these days, it’s a terrible shame it’s so hard to find.

Looking forward to this!

That’s not a real list without the Muppet version.

Screw the Muppets. Black and white ancient films FTW!

@triggercut, always good to see something written by you on the front page.

That’s not legal in most states.

What is happening with this thread? Curious.

The Muppets and Mickey Mouse version are my favorites, but I also like Scrooged quite a bit!

Well, to be fair, they usually have a hand up in there. So you would have to ask, nicely, for access.

See now I have weird stuff in my brain that I can not get rid of. Thanks Tom.

We’re goin’ front page! Merry Christmas!

Scrooged and Mr.Magoo are the only two I ever remember, outside of the written work.

Never resonated much w me, I guess, but I’m looking forward to this series!

Umm, what happened here? How did a thread turn into an article? Pretty cool. I like it.
