Death losses you some of your already earned XP clicking on the grave get’s about a fifth of it back I think. As mentioned before you can NOT delevel through chain dieing, you can reset your xp bar though so if your about to enter a really hard place think about saving to main menu and then reloading and leveling off the respawn before dieing.

grey = broken items usless really and not worth very much
White = common items plain ole vanilla style
Yellow = Uncommon items about the same dps/armor as a white but have 1 or 2 enchantments on them
Green = Better uncommon items usually a noticable change in dps / armor then a white and the bonuses also tend to be a bit better ( this is the highest level you can put a relic or token in for even more bonuses )
Blue = Rare bit higher base stats then a green and usually more bonuses can be parts of a set, completing sets grants more bonuses when they are all worn together.
Purple = Epic highest base stats usually rarest drops can look really cool but have rather lacking functionality pruples can also be parts of sets the highest sets are purples.
Since you can’t put relics into blues and purples a green with some nice bonuses + a relic tocomplement what you need can usually net you better mileage.
Been a while since I touched this but does the full version resolve the “crunchy” factor? The demo just comes across as not as visceral as Diablo – which is a selling point for me. Also is there a “druid” equivalent mastery/class in the full game? I’m tempted to buy it but the demo didn’t go far enough to “sell it” to me. But I do love these type of games.

It can be pretty “visceral” depending on your spec. Ragdoll physics + Distortion Wave!
I’m not sure I get the “visceral” query. If you’re wondering if it’s more intellectual, than I’d say no. If you’re wondering if it deals with more crude or elemental emotions, then I’d say no. It’s no deeper than Diablo, nor is it less so.
Now, in the sense of just giving you an experience that draws you in and makes you want to keep playing, then yes, TQ does bring that to the table, in my opinion. I estimate that I’ve played TQ more than I ever played Diablo or Diablo 2 combined, that’s how interesting I find it. Fortunately, with few other games out there right now to draw me away, this is exactly the sort of gameplay that keeps your mind occupied (or unoccupied, as the case may be).
And what is this “crunchy” factor of which you speak? I never heard the term before.
As an aside, I have to say that ragdoll physics have got to be the most entertaining thing that’s happened to gaming in a long time. I just get such a kick out of smashing opponents around and having them fly and land in crazy positions. Even when the system acts up (doing wacky things with bodies, like dead NPCs getting stuck in doors in Oblivion) it’s highly enjoyable. Seriously, I hope they put ragdoll physics in everything forever.

They really help you get into the game. When playing with my ritualist, I picked up the skill mastery buff from a shrine and used distortion wave on a group of 6 skeletons. Bones went flying all over the place along with their gear.
Going for using nature pets along with my dream pet, would it be better to
max out the dream pet first getting the pet bonus skill, then focusing on nature pets?
I wouldn’t. It’s better to get your pets helping you out first, then boost their abilities as you go by increasing the Nightmare’s level (and skills). Maxing your Nightmare first will give you nothing without good pets to boost.

So far at lvl 20 my ritualist (nature/dream) is kicking ass, I just got the nymph pet which gives me 4 pets out at once. Wolves don’t become good til around 8 or so points in to them. Besides increasing stats, do nymphs get more skills with more points in them, or the only skills they get are the 3 above them in the skill tree?
No, they get no more skills while putting more points into the nymph itself, only through the Overgrowth and Nature’s Wrath. Check out TitanCalc for details if you want to draw yourself up a build.

I had to quit too because of discomfort around my wrist. I tried playing with my left hand on the mouse and right on keyboard, but I was too clumsy for that to be realistic. Yes, I wanted to keep playing that bad. Luckily I don’t think I did any lasting damage, though I am thinking about starting up again…
No offense, but video game injuries sort of make me chuckle. :)
Well, it is a sport, you know. I wonder if they have injury lists yet?

I’m noticing something weird with the healing spell in nature. I have the skill that lets it bounce to everyone around me, but for some reason it’s not healing some of my pets sometimes. I just watched it go over all my pets and my one pet at 1/4 health left wasn’t healed. I have one point in the actual spell and one point in the bounce effect spell.

Yeah, I noticed that occasionally with my Wanderer. Once you get up there in level, what mostly ends up killing your pets are AOE effects, which they can’t dodge. There’s no way you have time to heal them when that happens. I have a couple of points in Dissemination (in Act 4 right now), and mainly use the heal spell for my character. Any bonus pet healing is gravy, and I’ve found it’s generally easier to just resummon them.

I got this game the other day and have already taken two characters pretty far along into the game. If I buy the expansion, will I be able to use take these existing characters into the new chapter(s) or whatever?
And yeah, I’m sure this has probably already been addressed somewhere in this massive thread, but I’m lazy. :)
Yes, and it’s recommended that you install the expansion as soon as possible since it adds stuff usable in the basic game as well (more uniques, artifacts, dream mastery, etc.), not just a new area.
I bought the original TQ last week and the expansion this past weekend. Are there enough enhancements to justify restarting my level 9 earth/storm char or am I OK to proceed?
You don’t have to restart your character to take advantage of the enhancements. Except if you want Dream mastery, but that’s just like wanting to try any other new build.
