Wandering through The Division 2’s DC, I come across some streets that bring back vivid memories of going to friends’ houses for dinner or parties. They did an amazing job recreating a lot of the atmosphere and look/feel.

Well, DC when I was around there didn’t have quite as many armed gangs duking it out in the streets, and garbage pickup was somewhat better, admittedly.

For some reason, around every christmas, I find the urge to fire this one up again. Its still one of the prettiest, most engrossing games I’ve played, for all its faults.

Does anyone know if their survival/snowstorm mode is still running? Thats one of the best implementations of a snowstorm I’ve ever seen.

Well if you’re playing the original it’s a Christmas game same as Die Hard is, as we all know, a Christmas movie.

I love the Division and never played the sequel much at all. It just didn’t have the same feel. Walking around a desolate NYC at night with the snow falling into uncharted territory and barely making it to a safe house was so cool. Shame the game didn’t get a next gen upgrade.

I would love to see D1 remastered with RTX. I also agree it’s better than D2.

So I owned this on Xbox but never got far due to my extremely poor controller skills.

I played 2 on pc and finished it all solo on hard or whatever the difficulty level is about 2 years ago I guess.

I have now bought this on pc and am going through it.

My memory is a little hazy of 2 now, but are there any great differences in gameplay between the two games? I keep thinking “I could be playing 2” which I suppose is in reverse.

To me, the atmosphere and mood in Division is far better than in the sequel - and, as I mentioned earlier, the survival mode is some of the best, most interesting gameplay I’ve ever encountered.

You start somewhere in the city, with no gear, in the middle of a snowstorm. There are other players (Although I rarely saw them), pvp is enabled, and the snowstorm is really intense, blinding you, freezing you, scarecity of ammo, and of course, enemies abound as well. Youn find weapons and clothing along the way. There is an end goal, that is achieavable.
So…much fun!

And, as @Jazar said

Thanks yes I understand that. I bought the expansions but I think I have to level up a bit more first.

I guess I meant more the actual mechanics of gameplay because it all seems extremely similar; although as I say I guess it is 2 that is extremely similar to 1.

Oh, it is - the mechanics are very very similar.

I went to a new safe house the other day; one that had several floors and I’m thinking “wasn’t this in 2”?

I do quite like the snowstorms I must say.
