This is a good idea, but there’s a bug with the shared stash we need to fix, so look out for that. From the known issue page:

Shared Stash items missing - This issue will be resolved in the next title update.
Cause: Stash file gets overwritten when creating a new character. Workaround: Load an existing character before making a new one.

If you find anything else that needs fixing, please let us know so we can squeeze it into the patch next week!

That was driving me nuts in the brief time I had to play this.

Well, I did pretty much this all weekend.

Technical Issues - They show up, but they’re not that big of a problem for me. Basically, if you’ve got thousands of dudes running at you with a couple of machine gun turrets and electricity guns set up, you might see the game hitch like it just threw up in its mouth a little. This is on a purely ranged character, though - not sure if it gets worse once you get knee deep in dudes.

Not-Technical Issues - One thing - and only one thing - pissed me right the hell off. So, I die in the little puzzle dwarf fortress map segment that you get from the guy that you get a gem for in every segment of the dungeon (whassisface the Ember scholar). I’m like ten feet from the entrance at this point, because you’re not really EVER more than ten feet from the entrance on that map, so I tell it to go ahead and bring me back in town because chasing that stupid enchant an item ten times achievement has pretty well tapped me out and I need to watch my cash for a while. So, it brings me back in town. And the portal is gone. I cursed. A lot. Because that was a map with a puzzle on it, and I kind of wanted to finish figuring that out.

Overall - totally worth it, though I’m feeling a bit of inventory tightness at this point and the ridiculously high fame target to get that last achievement might drive me insane.

Before I spend any money on this, I need to know what the situaiton is like regarding the end boss fight. Is it as wildly unbalanced and terrible as it is on PC?

Brian - Sorry about that. I made that puzzle, and it involves pulling levers and getting impaled by spikes. So, imagine that and you’re halfway there. I wish there was an easy way to replay those puzzle maps, I’ve gotten used to the PC version where cheating is simple.

Telefrog - The final boss’s health has been reduced a ton, and several other nerfs were applied to him as well, but it’s still a pretty long fight.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t mind a long fight as long as it’s fair. My complaint with the PC version was that every character I used would breeze through the game then get completely trounced in that boss fight. It was completely out of whack with the rest of the game.

On the good news front, I saw that Torchlight XBLA resulted in the best sales day ever. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/15/torchlight-xbla-launch-provided-runic-its-best-sales-day-ever/

That’s amazing, considering the amount of times the game has been $5 on Steam.

Is there a way to lock the zoom and use the right stick to control the camera when you’re fully zoomed in? A complete third-person mode (like in Fable) would’ve been great…

Aside from zooming, the camera is fixed.

There must be a gold dupe bug because the leader boards are whack.

So I just had this happen to me. Are my items gone forever or will the patch make them come back?

With max barter some items sell to the vendor for more than they cost. But really, who cares about leaderboards…

The only problem I’ve had so far (other than wanting to look at more details stats on my pet and not being able to swap to a different weapon set) is that with maxed out Armor Expertise on my Alchemist (who is now 21st level), none of the vendors stock any pieces of armor at all, including the gambling guy. It still drops in dungeons though, so whatever.

seventimessix - I think the shared stash gets overwritten, so the patch won’t bring it back. Sorry, that sucks.

ravenight - Weird, I just cheated up a character and was able to repro your no-armor thing. I’m not sure what’s causing that, I’ve asked QA to lock down the cause. We’ll try to get a fix into the patch. We had one other report of missing armor, and apparently it came back after a bit. Please let me know if yours shows up again.

The patch process is a little more complicated than we knew, but we’re working to get it out soon. Sorry to anyone experiencing bugs!

After all this time, I finally managed to get a character to Ordrak. My alchemist is level 28 and near as I can tell, this fight is impossible. I’m either dying or chugging potions the entire time and I don’t seem to be able to do much damage to the boss at all. After about 30 minutes of trying, I had him just under 75% and gave up. Is it that I’m too low level or is there some trick I’m missing?

It’s probably a combination of being too low level and not awesome enough weapons. Go wander around killing things in the purple portal quests and map portals until you’re at least level 30. Also check the shops for more dakka, unlike Diablo they’ll sell you unique items and more often than not you’ll get your best equipment in the store.

I found the best equipment was gained by enchanting your stuff? Just go back to that guy in town and enchant your item again and again…

With Everquest being down I turned my attention to this. Will I ever be able to quickly swap between more than two spells on the PC?

Just finished up the 360 version and it was a great experience. I have a feeling that I didn’t really dig deep enough into enchanting, combining and buying unknown items, but I didn’t need them to get through the game.

The achievements were set up just about perfectly in this game, btw. I wish other developers would run with the idea of making achievements accessible and a part of the game. The toughest one was the Max Fame achievement and that seemed easy enough to get if you kept playing.

Just started playing this. Really enjoying it however I have had 6 purple drops and all of them are Gorgon Gloves, is this normal or an issue with modding it etc?

Loot drops can be wonky thanks to the RNG. I have two sets of Gorgon Gloves.
