This has been widely reported. Some people suggest trying multiple times in a row (worked for me after like 5 times) for others that results in a ‘too many tries’ error. Their servers often get overwhelmed on release days.
Though probably par for the course once CA decided to use a data collection and email spamming website as middleware.

Shaman failed for me, then went through on the next try.
Best you can likely do is keep trying on and off. Because Total War Access is a shitshow, always has been, and always will be.
I only just saw this, a bit behind, but I tried and both went through without issue.
Yep. I’m the one whos always had to ask Sega support to give me a key since TWAccess never worked for me past the first one (Warhammer 1 RoR).
Apparently the problem was that whatever bullshit backend they’re running at some point decided my email address was bad (even though I could login and all that) and refused to hand anything out.
So it at least I got up to everyone else’s level of functionality now after switching emails
Thanks all, I’ll give it another shot after work.

It is so dumb that they make people jump through hoops for the free bits instead of just adding it to the damn game automatically.
I’ve never been able to get the free DLC lords to work reliably. For whatever reason all those steps just never seem to connect for me. Certainly the in-game Steam popup is totally useless.
I’m not sure it’s really that many hoops - every time I’ve done it I click, sign into web browser steam with my auth. key, and click “allow” and that’s that. I agree “just adding it to the game” is more ideal, but I assume the existence of the Total War Access system itself is how we are even getting this extra content (somehow).

Yea, and for the most part I think it has worked for me. It just seems like pointless busy work.
Every time a dlc drops I have a (technical loading) problem. This time it was because of me playing with a beta patch --it won’t (or for me it didn’t) download the dlc and patch with the beta patch. Heck
I don’t even know why I was playing with a beta patch.
The last great dlc for one of the greatest games of all time. I am not particularly fond of having to buy dlc for games for years to make them complete but I have never begrudged this games ability to make me want a dlc. And they have not been too pricey. (Weren’t they 29 bux the first year? 9.99 now is a bargain if you love the game).
You know some of us --including me --consider the golden age of gaming to be this and that. Warhammer 2 is a hall of famer. And new content dropped just today. Wow to live in these modern times.
lol don’t forget (if you haven’t) to go into slo mo mode in battles. Hilarious fun!
I haven’t actually been crazy about this one like some others but there is a new dwarf lord I’d like t try out.
Now on to the new dlc! I wish i streamed stuff because you could all see me getting stomped by someone!
I have retracted my opinion after some thought and have even super agreed with you! SOME games however I do not like the continuous dlc --esp ones I don’t “follow”.
I’m wrong so much it almost hurts --then again I lose 80 percent of my trials so I am used to it!
I’m enjoying the hell out of the new Dwarf campaign on Vortex. At first I was fighting Skaven and that felt very same-old same-old for a Dwarf campaign start. But then Teclis and Nakai picked a fight, then while still mopping up the High Elves I got into another fight with Luthor Harkon. Splitting my attention meant that I almost cleaned up Luthor and the High Elves were stubbornly holding on to a few provinces but I thought I had it all in hand. Oh also Naggarond had declared war on me early on for no discernable reason, which I was ignoring because they were far away. Right as I thought I had them both on the ropes, Hellebron sailed up with a full stack at Chupayotl and now I’m in a three way fight with factions that Dwarves rarely go up against. What fun!
(still downloading)
Yeah that’s where I am gonna start. That sounds great. Also now I want some fajitas. I know i know.
I’m confused - are we not on the internet? Did I win an argument somehow? I don’t know what to do! Is this some sort of simulation!? :)
Well, I don’t post here often. See the thread above: Dlc in this game is/are the right time and right place. So I agreed with you as to this game! Count that as a 1 - O.
(geez scott btw that is a scarey picture…)
Ok so this dlc is very interesting. First off it has the potential to unsettle that damn Dark Elf super hoard. As a Cleveland browns fan (a player would never say that lol)
might say : TG for the salary cap. In that I mean it would seem that the start pos for the new dlc is very interesting.
I played (by played i mean ran a battle or two) the dwarves in vortex and yes that’s fun. There are some new things. Ran over and played the new lizards and whoa … not ever sure how lizards fight in cold but there they are … in a difficult region. As lebowski once said : “It really tied the room together” – dark elves have a real northern threat.
… not ever sure how lizards fight in cold but there they are …

Played around with two of the new lords.
Thorek has a tough start on ME because you’re immediately up against Queek. On turn 8 I had a 1k v 6k battle!
Rune magic I’m ambivalent. Infinite use is great, but that cool down timer is a bitch.
Tauros has like, a million new resource types and ways to spend them. Old man advisor spends 10 minutes explaining them all. Pretty cool that you can now stop others settling areas you have razed.

Problem Queek usually has is that he’s in a 2 settlement province against Dwarfs early.
Warriors and Quarrelers tend to mop the floor with his mostly slave armies at that stage.
Ammo will probably run out, but Quarrelers can take a ton of slaves or clan rats in hand-to-hand.
Like his ME start was a pain because the Dwarfs would just pile up on their southern stronghold and never leave. Now he has those Dwarfs probably coming to murder him early on. Still, at least it’s more interesting than 2 stacks of Warriors sitting immobile on a gold mine and trying to ambush fish/bait them into ever moving.
I think Thorek is just a matter of “get to 20 units before you go too far North or you’re gonna have a bad time”. Which isn’t too hard since he starts with a gold mine.
