Rep Eric Swalwell (D) California asking Barr to resign.

Good. The fucking gaslighting going on ever since Barr’s Summary Sorry Not Summary has been infuriating.

Of course Fox News has an entirely different take on the release of the “full” Mueller Report…

In Summary :

  • No Collusion.
  • Mueller’s improper actions.
  • Report is Worst Cover-Up of All Time.
  • How Can FBI Rebuild It’s Reputation post-Mueller Report.
  • Trump Campaign Managers Want Accountability for Being Spied On.
  • Chaffetz Claims Dems In Demise!

Honestly I’m shocked they have the story about how Trump thought he was fucked.

If Barr wants to be another hack lawyer for DJT, he can knock himself out, but as AG he needs to resign or be removed.

According to notes written by Hunt, when Sessions told the President that a Special Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, “Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I’ m fucked.” The President became angry and lambasted the Attorney General for his decision to recuse from the investigation, stating, “How could you let this happen, Jeff?”

I that the tweet posted earlier with similar text was a joke, but it’s not. It’s right there in the report.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that Volume II is not part of these 400+ pages, but an addition 200+ pages. Did we hear back on that from anyone? Did they release that part today as well?

Edit: Ah, thanks for the clarification @vyshka.

Volume 2 is part of the pdf. It starts at page 208 or 209. They just concatenated the files it seems, so you initially read the index and it does not mention volume 2 at all.

I don’t think it shows incompetence at all. They basically already had evidence of Trump’s wrongdoing and intent, that wouldn’t really have been bolstered by interviewing Trump directly… Unless Trump was just an incredible imbecile and admitted, directly, corrupt intent.

Now, in fairness, it’s totally possible that Trump would do exactly that, and is simply too stupid to internalize the extremely simple coaching that would be needed to avoid it. But i can understand Mueller not wanting to get into a drawn out constitutional fight if he didn’t think it would offer any additional material evidence.

On a separate note, anyone who tries to spin this report along the lines of Barr’s original statement, much less Trump’s direct lie about it being complete exoneration, is a profound idiot.

/waits/

Can you please un-auto-correct this? I’d like to know what you’re actually saying.

On a separate note, anyone who tries to spin this report along the lines of Barr’s original statement

Get a load of this guy, the Timex whisperer.

To much time spent reading corporate emails.

Well what can you do? They’ve both denied any messages - EXONERATION. This whole mess is so fucking infuriating. I can’t see Barr resigning, unless he gets a better offer from some pro-Trump lobbying firm, etc. Mueller leaving it in the hands of Congress is such a piss-shit way of handling things that my mind came up with piss-shit in order to describe it.

Man, i gotta say, this report is better than i expected.

I really did not expect Barr to release anything this damaging to Trump.

It’s all he could do.

Mueller didn’t have the power to fight the AG on whether a sitting president can be indicted.

This is, constitutionally, a matter for Congress.

But really, in anything other than the hyper partisan world we live in today, any reasonable Congress would impeach the president after this report.

The very best possible spin for Trump on this, is that he’s grossly incompetent and his administration and campaign personnel lied repeatedly about tons of stuff. Like, that’s THE BEST way you can spin it. It’s incredibly bad, and this is just the public report.

Further, regarding Mueller’s call here:

Getting into a long constitutional fight would have delayed things, possibly past 2020.

The fact that he went so far as to specifically ask the office of legal council if they could indict the president? That’s CRAZY. That basically means that he thinks they should have, but he couldn’t.

In that situation, the best answer is to throw it to Congress. It’s their job. If they can’t do it, because of partisanship, that is not Mueller’s fault. He is not the sole savior of our republic. He did his job, from what I’m seeing… he gave Congress what it needs to move forward here.
