He was operating within the parameters of his mandate; that’s what Mueller does, and remember, Rosenstein was in charge. If Mueller had wanted to go outside those lines Rosenstein would have had to approve. That Republican line of questioning is a non sequitur.
I’m not fan of Joe Scarborough but thankfully he’s astute enough to understand GOP bullshit (there’s a poll attached to the tweet.)
So it sounds like Mueller is denying the Dems a recording of his voice reading the bare words of the report, even.
Democratic questioning has not been that bad. They stupidly keep blundering by asking him to agree to something which is in the report without referencing the report, which wastes time, but they are generally citing facts and bad acts they know he will agree to.
But wait! Here is the paper of record. Doesn’t’ everyone love the NYT?

The GOP strategy is to make it so ugly that people will tune out and the hearing will be a flop. And it is working, at least for me. I have too much work today and it is too distracting.

No one except political diehards is actually watching the hearings as they occur. It’s during the workday and it’s complete wonkery. But a narrative can be constructed around the hearing, and clips will be harvested. It’s the post-game that’s important, not the hearing itself.
That may be a strategy, to help get out the 2020 vote in order to defer any prosecution as long as possible.
Yeah. That NYT reaction to the hearing that MrGrumpy posted above is more important than the hearing.
Pointing out that the president committed a crime to own the libs.
I am shocked, shocked to learn that Maggie Haberman is spinning things to favor Trump!

I mean… what else is there to say?

So now congress impeaches him, right?
I mean, thats what should happen, and we should be marching in DC hong kong style until it happens. But of course none of that will happen.
Democrats need to get that clip out everywhere. The Republicans would if things were reversed. Anyone who paid any attention to the news whatsoever would hear it.
That part is up to nobody but us, and if things are as dire as we all say they are, then we are failing. (I include myself in this. If I told my wife I was going to go to DC and march all day long for weeks, she would… have an opinion about that.)

The advantage Hong Kong has is that everyone is in one city.
It’s hard for say people in Iowa or Washington state to join a march in DC. In Hong Kong all you had to do was walk out your door.
