They’re lying then because even Fox News has reported on this stuff. They know it’s true but if they claim ignorance they can still crap on the moral high ground.

Your regular reminder that it doesn’t matter whether Trump literally takes orders from Putin or not, because the results are exactly the same:

Anything to get out of his cell I guess. I’m surprised it took this long, he’s been pleading to cooperate with just about anybody for a year now.

Yeah - guess I should have posted with the standard internet comment “posted without comment”.

This guy gets it.

Yeah Dan and Jon Favreau have been making that point for a long time on Pod Save America – basically the current ‘twilight impeachment’ scenario is the worst of all possible worlds.

IMHO, it needs to rise above politics. These people were elected to perform a duty, and swore an Oath to the Constitution to do so.

But impeachment is a political process; there’s no “above politics” where it is concerned. It’s not a judicial process. It’s all about convincing Representatives and Senators that the President has violated his oath of office, and to do that you better convince the people as well.

Ok, rise above Party over Country politics. Duty calls.

The party-line vote came as House Democrats have struggled to define the committee’s probe, with Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler saying the committee is conducting an impeachment inquiry, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders are refraining from calling it that.

Of course.

We’ll have to do it ourselves in about 14 months.

It’s true that it isn’t a judicial process, but it isn’t true that it is a ‘political process’ in the sense of modern partisan political maneuvering. The founders believed that members of Congress and Senators would have some sense of decency and some threshold of shame and that they would do the right thing with respect to checking abusive executive power. Turns out they were wrong, about conservatives anyway.

Holder continued: “For the good of the nation, we must make sure the President of the USA is not held accountable for crimes while in office or from before he or she was elected. To do so would be to irrevocably change what we’re about as a country.”

Wait, what what in the what now? So if it turned out the President murdered someone before taking office, they should get a pass for the good of the country?

From before he was President is off limits too? That’s complete garbage.

Yes, also if he possibly raped multiple women, was a money launderer, and mingler with organized crime. For the good of the Country.

To be 100% fair to Holder, I believe Menzo’s comment was snark and not an actual quote.

Funny how we always need to qualify every potential absurd snark now as if it might be a joke.

Sad, but true, Mike. Sad, but true. We’re really in the stupidest freaking timeline.
