Yeah, Congress needs to impeach this piece of shit and let the chips fall where they may IMO.

Haha. I knew “the whistleblower is a traitor” would happen.

People, we are hitting all new crisis levels for the US and its future existence, blah blah blah. Shit’s getting real, just like it has every day for the past 3 years now. Articles will be written, politicians will give quotes, and Trump will continue his shit-stained reign.
Pelosi just released a statement and I want to throw up.
If these are our best people, we deserve this. We deserve it for electing a spineless, ineffectual bunch of sheep to Congress. Back when the new blood were hammering the Democrats for choosing Pelosi, they were right.
Ugh.
I’m gonna hold by my enthusiasm until Nancy delivers at least thoughts and prayers for something to change.
Where did you see/read this? I haven’t seen anything about a new statement from NP.
Technically yesterday? I only saw it in the news a short time ago. She’s furrowing almost as hard as Mitt Romney.
If the Administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the President, they will be entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigation.
Look out! A whole new stage! Like, until you all actually DO SOMETHING this is about as serious as threatening copypasta on Reddit.
“You better not say no! That’s against the law!! We’re gonna get SO mad at you!”

Pelosi, her husband, and their 5yo, on their way to Disneyland:
Pelosi - “OMG, if you don’t start behaving yourself then we’re NOT going to Disneyland today! I don’t care that we spent $500 on tickets already!”
Kid - “Fuck you, mom!”
Pelosi - “Seriously, you’d better be quiet or we’re SO not going!”
Kid - “Eat a dick, mom!”
Pelosi - “You’re entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us back home instead of Disneyland!”
Kid - “Blow me, mom!”

Republicans don’t even have to try to get Democrats to turn on themselves anymore. They can do whatever the hell they want, however many times they want and somehow what R does will be D’s fault. It’s like a dreamscape for them.

Btw, from what I’ve seen so far, the media really seems to be blowing their coverage of the Ukraine scandal in the most expected way. Most of the stories I saw this morning semi-accepted Trump’s framing of the issue — Democrats are concerned that Trump did something bad when he asked the Ukrainian President to look into allegations of corruption on the part of Biden and his son.
Even my left leaning co-workers were under the impression that Biden might have done something untoward. Because that’s basically what the mainstream media is reporting.

Moving this impossible dream to the proper thread…
BTW, it would be fantastic if the rumors that the whistleblower report related to the Ukraine was false and it turned out to be about Trump outting our spies to Putin. The escalation from an admitted high crime to flat out betrayal might be enough to force action. It’s kind of hard to spin, “he gave the names of US spies to Putin.” That one is easy enough for every rube in America, including reporters for the NYT to understand.
Normally I would say that this will obviously not happen because nothing matters anymore and any hope we have of justice is just an embryo of disappointment but yesterday the Giants were all set to lose another game with no time left on the clock, which is the expected result of any given Giants game from the last four years, but then the Tampa Bay kicker missed an easy field goal. IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA? Maybe we’ve leapt back into a slightly less shitty timeline

Dammit, now I’m rooting for the Redskins. If they win also then all things are possible again.

I’m rooting against them because how can you support Dan Snyder. His team getting owned, repeatedly, is one of the few reminders of cosmic justice in the world today.
Ha, been a Skins fan since the '72 Super Bowl but I also hate Snyder. So either way I win when they lose! Unfortunately, I also lose either way.

This is me also.
It is probably the saddest point of being a fan of a team that the one thing that is hardest to change is the ownership. Imagine Dan Snyder as the owner of your team and all the heartbreak that comes with it.

What a great thread in which to have a discussion about football! Keep going!
