Quick question: if and when Articles are drawn up and this goes to a trial in the Senate, does the President himself still have the 5th Amendment right not to testify, even though the worst consequence of the trial is removal from office? It’s not a criminal trial and there’s no danger of incarceration nor a fine, so how does that work?

I believe he can claim any Amendment right he wants. He could recite Shakespeare. An impeachment trial is not a criminal process, it’s a political one.

Your joking right? None of the former intelligent guys on CNN had seen one. If you are the government and you are outraged by something Trump does you leak it to the press. Who the hell bothers to go through official channels, when you can send an encrypted message.

I and I know others on here have dealt with whistlerblowers. They are primarily about harrassment, favoritism, and once in a blue moon a cheating on expense reports or embezzlement . In the intelligence world I assume the occasional Snowden thing.
