Unfortunately, I can’t quite make that line up with Melania’s bio. Too bad, that would make a fun conspiracy theory.
I’m sure there have been many ‘Russian’ women, all in the pay of the GRU.
But…but Glenn Greenwald and The Intercept assured me that Russian interference was a hoax!
These same Republican Senators all voted to acquit.

Yep - we’ve been at “yes, I believe he did it but don’t care” for a while now.

They’ve been open about using voter suppression to maintain control for a while, this just seems like a logical extension of that. When you don’t have any ideology aside from holding onto power, what’s the problem with some foreign assistance? They’re not going to impeach Trump over it, if anything I think most of them would want in on the game.
Some poor intern is getting totally sexually harassed by Matt Taibbi after all this…

I’m out of the loop on Taibbi, can you explain the joke/reference to me?
He was also big on the “This Russia thing is a red herring, and YOU SHEEPLE ARE STUPID for buying into that hoax and conspiracy theory.”
(Also, Taibbi has a rep. Some of it stems from the start of his career, where he admits he was kind of a misogynist pig, though he won’t own up to the harassment allegations made against him.)

Ahhh, gotcha! Thank you. :)
I’m curious how a Republican-led committee approves this report. Are they showing spine, or calculating that nobody cares anyway, or is the structure of the process such that it couldn’t be quashed without serious political consequences?

I think they know that no one voting for them is going to pay attention anyway. The Mueller / Russia thing is ancient history at this point, “no one” cares. Trump was already exonerated, Bill Barr said so.
Richard Burr, chair (Rubio is acting) and John Warner Ranking member, have long had a good working relationship and have really made an effort to work in a bi-partisan manner, similar to the Armed Service committee. They may be the only committees that are actually behaving like traditional Senate committee pre-Trump. The Republicans on the committee, other than Cotton, follow into the sane side of the Republican spectrum, e.g. Collins, Rubio, Sasse, Cornyn.
